Questions & Answers

Sink plate into wood?

How could I cut a hole in plywood to sink the plate and make it the same height as the plywood surface, any ideas?
Asked by: brownbear
Yes, you could sink it. Measure the exact thickness & size of your mending plate, then use a router. Also could sink it into soft wood by using a piece of 2x4. Routing takes more planning but the 2x4 hammer method takes more care & patience. It really depends on your source material and your experience (or willingness to try something.
