The Simpson Strong-Tie Outdoor Accents line of decorative hardware features connectors and fasteners that bring beauty and strength to custom outdoor living structures. The deck joist tie attaches 2x joists to the side of 4x or larger support posts. It installs quickly and easily with the Outdoor Accents structural wood screw and hex-head washer for the look of a bolted connection. Part of the Avant Collection.

We offer two different Outdoor Accents Avant Deck Joist Ties, the APVDJT2-4 when mounting to a 4x (3-1/2") post and the APVDJT2-6 when mounting to a 6x (5-1/2") post. Both will support a single 2x8 joist. Enter either part number in the Search Strong-Tie box on our home page strongtie.com to view the required fasteners and allowable load values. Super easy to install and they look great. One thing that you should pay attention to is that you will need both the 5-1/2" and 3-1/2" structural wood screws to install these along with plenty of the hex washers. Also note that they are not symmetric so that you can install two of them on the same corner without the screws hitting each other so pay attention to the orientation of the holes even since there aren't many distinct markings on them and the hole pattern difference is small.
