No, most post bases do not provide adequate resistance to prevent members from rotating about the base and therefore are not recommended for non-top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports). The only post base we refer to for fence applications (max 4' high) is the FPBB44 (only available for 4x4 posts). Thank you!
The PB46 is to be installed with 16d common nails (0.162" diameter x 3 1/2" long). Thank you!
Based on dimensions alone the 6x6 would fit in the PB46, but there are some concerns and it would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to approve. Download of the PB bases is limited by the design capacity of the post and the PB46 would be limited to the capacity of a 4x6 post. Also, the post would be exposed on the bottom more than it would with a base appropriately sized so corrosion could be a concern and should be addressed. Thank you!
It would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to specify the appropriate connector based on framing layout, demand loads, local building codes, etc., but the ABA46Z or ABU46Z are both options for a 4x6 post. Thank you!
Yes, you can use the brace with pressure treated wood.
