Q:WHAT IS THE COVERAGE PER TWIN TUBE SET PER SINGLE BEAD WHEN USED FOR CONCRETE ADHESION?
by|Mar 10, 2023

Answer This Question
A: Hi LSCO, this is McKenzie from Simpson Strong-Tie. The SET-3G is designed for rebar or threaded rod doweling. Therefore all design information including coverage per tube would be based on rebar/threaded rod doweling. Since that is the case we do not have any data for concrete adhesion applications. We do have an Adhesive Cartridge Estimator on our website in which you can chose rebar or threaded rod with their diameter and then the adhesive you want to use. You would then chose number of installs, embed depth, drill bit diameter and overage factor and the estimator would tell you how many tubes you would need of the varying sizes we offer of the adhesive you are looking at for your specific job. If you need more information or have additional questions, please contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. We look forward to hearing from you.

Answer This Question
A:Â Hello CAEmerson, this is Stacy with Simpson Strong-Tie. The THD heavy duty screw anchors are not designed to be used with epoxy. We would recommend you explore using all-treaded rods with epoxy instead. Also, we would need to know what size rods will be used to give you a more accurate number of installations allowed for one tube. If you wish to discuss this further please call us at (800) 999-5099. We look forward to speaking with you.

Epoxy mixed as advertised. I used a regular caulking gun-had to channel my inner Hulk to squeeze the trigger. Wonder if the Simpson application tool is worth the cost?
