Product Overview

  • The Professional's Choice
  • Can install closer to the edge of concrete than expansion anchors
  • Approved for use in seismic areas
The Titen HD is a patented, high-strength, easy-to-install screw anchor for use in cracked and uncracked concrete, as well as uncracked masonry. The Titen HD offers low installation torque and outstanding performance. Designed and tested in dry, interior, non-corrosive environments or temporary outdoor applications, the Titen HD demonstrates industry-leading performance even in seismic conditions.
  • Qualified for static and seismic loading conditions
  • Thread design undercuts to efficiently transfer the load to the base material
  • Specialized heat-treating process creates tip hardness for better cutting without compromising the ductility
  • No special drill bit required — designed to install using standard-sized ANSI tolerance drill bits
  • Testing shows the Titen HD installs in concrete with 50% less torque than competitor anchors
  • Hex-washer head requires no separate washer, unless required by code, and provides a clean installed appearance
  • Zinc-plated carbon steel anchor can be used for temporary exterior applications
  • Removable — ideal for temporary anchoring (e.g., formwork, bracing) or applications where fixtures may need to be moved
  • Caution: Use a Titen HD screw anchor one time only — installing the anchor multiple times may result in excessive thread wear and reduce load capacity
  • California residents see Prop 65 WARNINGS

what size drill bit do need regular masonry bit or special bit. Do they meet IBC code anchor residential home to slab on grade.
Asked by: KWM
Simpson answer says 1/2" bit/hole for a 1/2" Titen, but the technical spec's, say 5/8" (0.625) hole for the 1/2" Titen. I think Simpson is right, but ALL of the technical spec's for ALL of the Titen bolts lists 1/8" (0.125) larger. This information mistake by HD/Simpson could *really* screw a lot of people up by having them drill a hole that is too large--leading to catastrophic failures.

Yes, they need to put the quantity per box - that would make it easier to make a purchase decision.

These were used to fasten the Simpson UFP10-SDS3 foundation plate to the concrete foundation wall. We used a cordless 1/2" Milwaukee impact drill to install these, and it was a easy-peasy. Nice, tight grip, and installed very quickly. Make sure you vacuum out holes before installing, makes all the difference in the world.
