Product Overview

  • Reinforces 90-degree connections; stronger than nails or screws
  • Removes the guesswork for making perfectly square connections
  • Great for framing, fencing and woodworking reinforcements
Not only do angles make joints stronger, they also provide more consistent, straight corners. Simpson Strong-Tie offers a wide variety of angles in various sizes and thicknesses to handle light-duty jobs or projects where a structural connection is needed. Some can be bent (skewed) to match the project. For outdoor projects or those where moisture is present, use our ZMAX zinc-coated connectors, which provide extra resistance against corrosion (look for a "Z" at the end of the model number).
  • Versatile connector for various 90° connections and home repair projects
  • Stronger than angled nailing or screw fastening alone
  • Help ensure joints are consistently straight and strong
  • Dimensions: 1-1/2 in. x 2 in. x 1-3/8 in.
  • Made from 18-Gauge steel
  • ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications
  • Install with 10d x 1-1/2 in. nails or #9 x 1-1/2 in. Strong-Drive SD screws

Yes you can. It's galvanized to help reduce oxidization, so it will last a good long while before it rusts on you.

Need to secure 1 stair to drywall, will this work (ill place on side of stair and to drywall. Will drywall anchors fit through holes?

A drywall screw will fit through the holes. But drywall is not sturdy enough to hold the weight of a stair, and will crumble immediately if anyone steps on the stair.

Can you tell me what size screw I would use for this item?

I am not asking for the length. Thank you.
Asked by: Sarah
a "#9 screw" or a "10d nail" I used 1" long screws (though the page suggests 1 1/2" screws... I would base that on the width of the wood/drywall/etc you are screwing into)

What can you say about an L bracket? :-)These are drastically cheaper than stainless ones from the hardware department. We secured fourteen 2x6 x 19' beams for the roof of a covered patio extension. There are 4 of the L brackets per beam as they cross two 2x8 headers. Very rigid now.
