Does this boiler come equipped for on demand hot water ?

Asked by cheeko April 20, 2021
1
Answer

The simple answer is yes, but as the term on demand hot water may mean different things to different people let me give you a more specific explanation. This boiler contains a tankless coil. In most installations the boiler would be adjusted to maintain a temperature of 140-180F 24 hours day 365 days a year. A potable water supply would be connected to the tankless coil. When a hot water faucet is opened, water would travel through the coil and be instantaneously heated. Given the thermal mass of this boiler and depending on what nozzle is installed, you should expect to get between 3.2 and 3.4 Gallons of hot water per minute for one half hour.

Answer

If you look under the header "Info and guides" on the Home Depot product listing page you will find a PDF of the use and care manual for this product. On page 13 you will find the legend for the codes. It indicates that fault 1 is Aquastat sensor fault; check water sensor.

Does it come with the burner?

Asked by Frank June 2, 2020

Answer

Yes it comes with a Beckett AFG burner mounted. When I was young boilers came "Knock Down" and you assembled them in the basement. Today most boilers like this one come "Packaged" That pretty much means they come assembled and include the burner and aquastat/relay and circulator. Slant/Fint boiler in general
too heavy , was a challenge to make to the basement, found that the one box (where temperate can be adjusted) was installed ups and down, corrected by reversed the box. also the wire comings from the voltage box to motor was bit short, had to move the voltage box about 6 inches low. My self and my plumber made it though but was not expected this kind of issues after paying over $2650 boiler.
