Will this handle very tall grass? After heavy rains here in Northern CA the grass can shoot up to 8 or 10 inches.
Asked by: HomeDepotCustomer
The mower powers up when you push it through tall grass. I have had no problem cutting two week old grass. I have not cut grass with this mower that was 8 to 10 inches tall, however.

Rear for bagging grass, or change to side chute for side discharge of grass.

How loud is it?

What does it compare to for noise example?
Asked by: Craig
It is an a gas much quieter than a gas powered mower and much easier to handle. I have more than three acres to mow with a lot of plantings to cut around, as a 70+ year old retiree I usually break the mowing into a couple of days. Don't have a really good comparison for noise level -- possibly a kitchen mixer.

I've had this mower for 2 weeks (used 3 times), and really wanted to love it. The electrical system works very well (the battery runs the mower for about 45', the same time it takes the second battery to fully charge). And the upright storage is a delight. The problem is the mowing function itself. It just doesn't cut particularly well. Granted it's Spring and the grass is at its thickest and most lush, but the mower consistently fails to cut all the grass. I've tried raising the mowing height, slowing down, and overlapping rows by 50%, but there are still random blades of grass the mower misses. I still recommend the mower, but with reservations.

After lots of pre-purchasing research, I had high hopes for this Snapper 82 volt Lithium-Ion Electric Cordless Walk Behind Push Mower. Unfortunately, it did not mulch very well and it could not adjust up to my preferred grass blade cutting height so I brought it back to Home Depot for a full refund. I then purchased a different brand's mower from a competitor's store. It is lighter, less expensive, mulches very well and adjusts up to my preferred height. I would like to make it clear that even though I was dissatisfied with the Snapper lawn mower, I was very satisfied with the Home Depot clerks who were very friendly and helpful at the point of purchase and when going through a quick and respectful refund process.

I have had an ego cordless mower before that worked flawlessly, and when I saw that this one had a metal deck instead of plastic and 30 volts more power, I was sold! Sadly, it doesn't mow well. It misses grass in every row - even when I overlap by about 4 inches. It runs at slow speed unless it gets bogged down, and only then do you get full power, which I suspect is what is causing the missed spots. The bag is poorly made and after 3 uses is already beginning to fray. I really wish I had stuck with my old ego mower. Sadly, I ordered this online, and have missed the return window so I'm stuck with it.

Pros= super quite, you could mow at 4am and no one would even know. Good power increases power as grass gets thicker Con= Super thin blade hit a pebble and the blade now has a big gash I had to file out Plastic blade retension nut I can see in the future it will round off and getting the blade off will be a pain All in all I like it, just some minor cons it still all works good I'm gonna get the weed eater that goes with it for super convieniant.

They even produce a professional series. So wouldn't you think they'd know how to design a decent mulching blade? I spent hours online researching the perfect mower for a 1/2-acre lawn, and this beauty fit the bill. Well-built. Great batteries. Nice design. But here's the rub, with all it has going for it, why does it do such a lousy job actually cutting grass?. There's virtually no lift to bring the grass up under the deck. So what happens? Lots of blades left behind standing at attention or lying down. Before purchasing this mower I called Snapper about the mulching feature because this is how I help fertilize my lawn. The customer service rep. told be I wouldn't have a problem with the blade. Well, I DO have a problem with this blade. This never happened with my Personal Pace gas-powered Toro. In fact after mowing I could easily blow off my driveway of any grass clippings that settled there. The blade's whirlwind was so powerful it even shooed away small stones. Impressive. I'm going to wait to hear back from Snapper in response to this review. Because in the end it doesn't matter how great the features are if the actual cut quality sucks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic mower! Bought this in April 2019, waited a few months to really use it in all different conditions and let me say this mower is awesome. Bagging is excellent, mulching is very good, not quite what our old gas mower that up and died was, but darn close. I have cut at height 2 and 3 primarily. Battery (2Ah) lasts about 40 minutes when bagging, a little less when mulching. I had a stinger one weekend in my dominant shoulder, so could only use 1 arm, and I had no issue mulching that time. It is very light, very quiet and yet extremely powerful. I do clean the underneath and blow out all areas with my small compressor to keep the motor intake clean. So far so good. I am going to get the cordless string trimmer next, as my old corded one jams the line up all time. Check out the videos if you have not seen this mower in action (no dealer around me-NE Wisconsin-even knew Snapper made a cordless mower). Snapper/Briggs and Stratton should really get their dealers up to speed, and make them in America (Milwaukee!). I would definitely be a solid advocate for cordless mowers. My neighbors look at me funny when I mow because it is so quiet and easy to use. I will never go back to a gas model. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Solid battery powered mower~ Snapper is a trusted name in lawnmowers & with a wide metal deck, 2 long lasting, fast charging batteries, easy to change mowing height, it lives up to its name. After using my son's Ryobi, which is light weight & easy to use, though I bought him an additional battery & my neighbor's EGO, I am most satisfied with this choice ~ Snapper...plus it's red!

Mine came with a pair of 2ah that last about 30 minutes each. Bought it in September and when I started things up in the spring one of the batteries was dead. Supposed to be a 24 month residential warranty on the batteries, but no one wants responsibility for it. Be forewarned that replacing these batteries is about $140 each.
