Would my 80 volt kobalt battery fit this cultivator?

Asked by Max June 25, 2020
1
Answer

The Snapper 82 Volt Cultivator (model 1696869) is specifically designed to work with the Briggs & Stratton 82 Volt batteries (2 Ah battery: part number 1760266, 4 Ah battery: part number 1760265, and 5 Ah battery: part number 1760966 ). Because of this, we can not recommend using any other type or brand of battery since it may cause damage to the cultivator, battery, or both.

Could this tiller be used to do a sandy beach?

Asked by Herkie June 26, 2019
1
Answer

My experience is that the tiller is good for my small garden plot, mostly clay and mulched compost, top soil. A sand beach would I believe take a lot of operating time and the batteries would wear down quickly. Either a tiller with a longer charge fully electric on a cord, or combustion engine would be preferable. That said, this tiller does a great job and you can get depth but a larger beach would have to be done over days and weeks not in hours. My humble opinion.

Does it till through grass without getting hung up with clumps of soil and grass?

Asked by Cole May 7, 2019
1
Answer

We do not recommend attempting to till sod/grass into the soil, rather, we recommend removing the sod/grass by using a shovel first. Because every yard type is different depending on the area you live in, we recommend contacting your local authorized Snapper dealer to see if this cultivator would be a good option for your specific situation.

Are the batteries for the snapper tools interchangeable? I.E. for this tiller and the 19 in push mower?

Yes, if it's an 82 volt tool.

What would I buy something that can’t be used until I buy 2 more parts ie charger and battery. Weak

The same reason that you would buy a bare Dewalt or Milwaukee 20v tool if you already had some of their other tools and one or more batteries and charger. Many people invest in systems, not just a single tool. Since I already have the blower, line trimmer and hedge trimmer, this would be a nice add-on without the need to buy the battery/charger.

Cost of batter & charger?

It would be in the range of $140-150. If I were interested in this and didn't have the battery/charger, I'd probably be looking for a deal on another Snapper 82v component that includes the two - that would probably be a better deal than buying the battery/charger separately.
