Does it have any kind of guide to use along the curb or driveway?

AnswerThis edger attachment does not have a dedicated "guide", however, it should be relatively easy to line up the blade and guard with the edge of the lawn you are looking to using this with. This does have an adjustable wheel which will make it easier to maintain control of the edger as you are using it. You can find the operator's manual and parts list for this edger by using this units model number (1697211) in the manual locator on the Snapper website.
Will the edger work on ryobi expand it head.

This edger attachment fits the 1687875 or 1696771 Snapper 82v cordless string trimmer. To install just loosen the release hand, then push the release button and pull the string attachment off, then simply align the release button with the positioning hole on the power unit and slide the edger into the power unit. Then rotate the lower shaft until the button locks into position, then tighten the release handle and you’re ready to go. You’ll need to adjust the cutting depth, I’ve set it as shallow as possible for the first cut, once I see how it reacts, I’ll set the depth lower the second time. It works quite well, with the 82v power unit, I can edge the driveway, sidewalks, then switch back to the string trimmer, finish trimming along the fence/property line and not have to worry about running out of battery.
Home Depot has several universal replacement type blades. I’m going to try the Tri-Arc edger blade in the near future. Make sure you read the manuals for proper maintenance. First and foremost, this looks like an intimidating attachment, so probably not advisable to try and use it on other machines.With that said, even without instructions included in the box, the edger is easy to install. Once securely on, it is also advisable to use a shoulder strap as the combination of machine and attachment is heavy. Using the edger take some time and practice to get used to, but my lawn will look very nice from now on!

Not as good as a gasoline model, but, perfect for what I have to do. Only problem the unit kept overheating and shutting off. Once I figured out what was causing that it worked perfect

Very easy to change out from trimmer to edger. A little on the heavy side but once you get used to it its not a problem. The edger has ample power. I used it for over 30 minutes and had power to spare. I also have the xd self propelled mower , trimmer ,blower and tiller. They all do the job well

I’ve used many edgers over the years, but this edger is the best.
First, it connects to the Snapper XD string trimmer. Assembly was a snap.
Secondly, the power Is incredible and rivals gas edgers, but with out the smell, noise and danger of high rpms.
This is the first edger that I actually felt was working with me.
Thirdly, this edger is built very well, it has met or exceeded all my expectations.
I am a believer is the Snapper XD 82v line of products as all I have used have performed well and were very robust designs.
I recommend this product .....
