A Complete Failure
I had my first chance to use this snow blower a couple of days ago and it was a great disappointment. I got out early enough while snow was still falling and about 4 to 5 inches had accumulated. This was a quite fluffy snow. This blower would spit out some snow for a couple of seconds barely clearing the machine itself before completely stalling. If I kept the throttle engaged and backed off of the snow it would begin to spin again. So I tried a rocking motion, step forward a bit, stall, back off, spin, forward etc. and the chute would clog up. Realizing this wasn't going to work out, I got out my 18 inch corded electric Toro snow blower and it had no trouble throwing the snow 15 to 20 feet with no clogging. I had hoped I could avoid using the wired snow blower by using this battery powered model, but it's looking like the only snow it will handle will be one a shovel could just as well. I did purchase two of these as refurbished models direct from Snowjoe, so I will try the second one with the next snowfall, but reading other negative reviews, I see I'm not alone and don't expect to get a different result, but will be happy to update this review should that occur. I do not recommend this snow blower.

2 years and still very happy
Eval This is my second winter with the battery operated SnoJoe and I remain pleased with its performance. I have my driveway plowed but needed something for my brick patio, walkways and general clean up after the state plows have gone by. It’s not perfect. When the snow is heavy or wet, it may need restarting and can only do narrow sections at a time (similar to mowing grass that is way overdue) but it still beats shoveling. I broke my elbow a few weeks ago and have been able to use the SnowJoe one-handed for the last four storms. I would not have been able to do the same with a larger or heavier machine. I’m 5’ 4” and 60 years old. I live in Vermont.

Used blower for three snows in four days: 2", 4" and 4" wet snow, starting the day after it was delivered. It was necessary to adjust the chute more towards the front for the wet snow. Was able to do 650' feet of sidewalks in 30 minutes, all on one battery charge! The purpose was to replace a shovel, and it has exceeded expectations.

The fact that this little beauty is lightweight doesn't mean it can't move the heaviest of snow. I love the fact that I can put in the battery and start to work, no priming, mixing gas and oil, just push the button and off I go. Best of all, it is quiet, and doesn't dump a huge load of smoke and exhaust into the environment. I have already recommended it to several neighbors and friends. Tackled the snowiest February in MN without a hitch.

      Works great
Very easy to assemble and use. I am 60 and disabled. It works great even for a little heavier of snow than its made for. That picture is of heavy wet snow.

I love this electric, cordless snowblower!! Been looking all over for a snowblower like this because I hate bothering with the gas, oil, and tune-ups. I especially despised smelling like gas for days when using my old snowblower. I used the electric, cordless blower for the first time last week and it well exceeded my expectations. No cord, no emissions, no fumes. Love it! So quiet too. I did purchase a back-up battery as recommended in the reviews in case there's a heavy snow storm and the snow removal takes longer than 50 minutes. Then, there's no need to wait a couple hours for the battery recharge and I don't have to delay completing the snow removal job. I highly recommend this snowblower. I also purchased a snow shield to prevent the snow blow back from covering me in snow from head to toe. I've attached a pic here. Thanks Snow Joe for creating such a product! I'll never go back to the gas/oil snowblower.

        A great snow removal machine ! ! !
The Snow Joe has worked very well, on Saturday I was able to clear about 3" of snow from 300' of neighborhood sidewalk, my asphalt driveway (45' x 10'), my wood deck (15' x 10') and interlocking stone patio (15' x 15') and still had 1/3 battery left. The only problem I was having while doing the sidewalk was the scraper bar would get stuck on some of the concrete control joints, it would be great if there were a way to adjust this, raise it up 3/8" or so. It snowed more overnight so Sunday I had 6" of snow to clear from my driveway, deck and patio (one of the neighbors took on the sidewalk). It was a little tougher going, I wasn't able to throw the snow as far since it was very windy and I had to keep the chute low otherwise it would just blow back at me. The following Tuesday we had another storm, about 6" worth. While I was at work one of the neighbours cleared my driveway and sidewalk. My son had been working out of town so I headed over to his place the next day to clear his driveway, the Snow Joe fit easily with the handle down in the back of my Honda CRV. His driveway is larger than mine (75' x 15') and had some drifting (8 to 10 inches). I was able to clear it in about 45 minutes just as the battery was giving out. I did not attempt the drift left at the road by the snowplow as there were layers of ice in it. So far the Snow Joe has worked great on dry mainly undisturbed snow, I haven't had a chance to try it on any wet packed down stuff yet.

This snowblower works great with small areas and light snow. It does not work well with heavy wet snow. It does not throw the snow very far - and the faster you push, the farther it throws the snow. Definitely buy the clean-out tool for $10. You will need it often. The chute clogs up. It is easy to unclog. A few caveats: 1. You can't charge or keep the battery in the garage unless your garage is heated. The battery can't be charged or stored under 50 degrees. 2. Buy another battery. It lasts for about 50 minutes. It isn't enough to do a 2 car short driveway (30 ft) and a 75 ft sidewalk. Especially if the snow is wet at all. You don't need an additional charger. 3. You have to remove the battery from the charger after it is at full charge. It charges in about 2 hours. Otherwise, this is a good little snowblower for the money and that it is battery powered. It takes some getting used to, but if you don't want to mess with a gas powered snowblower, and you are willing to be a little patient, this one is for you! It is better than shoveling. Oh - it won't do the snow that the snowplow leaves at the end of the driveway - but we figured that anyway.

Yes I am giving this 5 stars. Today I used it for the first time. It's November and today we got 7" of the nastiest wettest snowfall I can ever remember for this month. I knew from reviews and from a few demonstration YouTube videos that this thing is better built for dry snow, but I gave it a try anyway. I wasn't expecting it to be perfect, but it certainly got the job done. I would have been out there for hours trying to shovel this mess by hand, and with some patience I was even able to get through the snow jam left by the snow plow. I did my entire driveway, patio out back, a walkway the length of the house, and a wooden wheelchair ramp. It took two batteries to finish, so I'm glad I bought an extra one. This Snow Joe certainly passed the test. I can hardly wait for some normal dry snow. It will blow through it in no time at all.

I was very surprised that the Snow Joe can remove as much snow as it does. It does a great job.
