Driven by a powerful 13 Amp motor, the Snow Joe Ultra moves up to 550 lbs. of snow per minute. Its durable, 2-blade cold-and-abrasion-resistant rotor cuts a swath 18 in. W x 8 in. D with each pass. Addition to its hard-working plowing capacity, the Snow Joe Ultra features an adjustable discharge chute that rotates a complete 180° to provide full control over the direction of the snow stream. The chute deflector can also be adjusted to control the height of the snow stream. Easy-glide all-terrain wheels make the Snow Joe Ultra easy to turn and maneuver with each pass. Does this item need extension cord or just to start it?

AnswersHello, You need an extension cord, if you are using a cord up to 50 Ft you need a 14 gauge, if you need anything longer than 50 up to 100 Ft you must use a 12 gauge cord. Thanks Customer Service Team Snow Joe + Sun Joe

AnswersAny snow blower will have trouble with ice. It is meant for snow. So I understand, the auger is made of plastic and in the Technical Data, it states that it is designed for light fluffy snow. I found mine to work reasonably well for small jobs.

AnswersI have never used my blower on a gravel service. Bare in mind this unit is made of plastic. Gravel could destroy your blower.

My wife and I assembled this blower without a problem. After assembly, and with some instruction, my wife, at 83 years of age, took it out on our deck and proceeded to shovel it clean. You can see the good job the machine did and the smile on my wife's face. Her comment was, "I don't have to lift another shovel full of snow"

I had to wait for the snow to return after I bought the Snow Joe! We have had a couple snow falls this March so I got to try out the machine. I like it a lot, it's light and has good power. The only thing I didn't like was the start button, it took a couple tries to start up. I think it has to be depressed to start and at first it would pop out. It is working better now. This last snowfall was heavy and wet so there was quite a bit of clogging but it slides right out for the most part.

This little snow blower isn't half-bad. I just used it on about 4" of snow that wasn't too heavy and I suspect it could handle more. The cord can be a pain, but even with that it beats the heck out of shoveling. Making adjustments to the chute deflector became bothersome, so I set it to the middle position and will leave it there. It sort of felt like I was using a toy, but for the price it's great. I recommend it.

I found this very lightweight compared to my big old gas blower and easy to manuver. Shot out snow very efficiently and was pleased with the power of it for the money. I am very happy with this purchased. I was dealing with about 6 inches of snow, I think it could handle just a little more, but not extreme deep snow
