AnswersDepends on the door. The hardware came with a guide but my installer had to put the groove in the bottom of the door. I'm not a carpenter so it was a lot of work installing. And no, it wasnt a carpenter taking his time for more money, it was a friend of mine who does this for living.
Can this be used without having to removed the wooden door frame?

AnswerYes , the only wood removed was the 1/4inch door jam in the inside of the doorway to make it look like just a walk through door opening. Couple of coats of paint ,ud never know it was the door jam for a door. Wood puddy where the hinges and door lock were, sand and paint. Saves a lot of work and money ripping out the doors and rebuilding the frame. U can leave ur outside trim alone.

Home Depot service is always great. This product, while sturdy, had the ABSOLUTE WORST DIRECTIONS. It was a nightmare with only crappy pictures showing you what to do. It showed to mount the bar on the wall and AFTER that to put in the stops. Unfortunately, we had to take the bar off the walk to put in the stops. And you cannot put in the plus “with your thumb”. We had to hammer them in. It was horrible to install.

The finish is just what I was hoping for and...
The finish is just what I was hoping for and the quality of the hardware is great. My only complaint is the soft close feature, which cane with difficult to follow instructions and doesn’t seem to do anything. I installed it without the soft close parts.

Had a professional install the hardware and doors. If you're not a mechanic, dont attempt this on your own. However the hardware and doors came out as envisioned. Had to put 2 coats of paint on the doors and buy and paint a header board which was lagged into the wall to hold the hardware. Lot of work to install but worth it.
