      A:  An infrared heating element supplements the primary heat source in a larger area / room. Also, infrared heat tends to not contribute to drying out the moisture in the room where the fireplace is used. On average, there is a 50/50 split between conventional heat and infrared heat. And, as you probably already know, the infrared heating element commands a higher price point due to the components used. Under usual circumstances there should be no need for a separate / dedicated circuit.
