Product Overview
The Coppertop Sweet Viburnum is brand new from the Southern Living Plant Collection. It's noted for its gorgeous evergreen leaves that emerge maroon red and fade to a copper hue before eventually maturing to olive green over the season. This foliage is naturally compact, as well as disease and pest resistant. At maturity, it reaches 8 ft. tall to 10 ft. tall and 5 ft. W to 6 ft. W. However, it can easily be trimmed to your desired height yearly. In spring, it features petite and aromatic white flower clusters to usher in the new growing season. Additionally, it's impressively drought and heat tolerant once established in your landscape. This is a fantastic choice for a hedge, privacy screen or woodland garden. The Coppertop Sweet Viburnum is hardy from USDA Zones 8-10. It grows best with Full Sun exposure and does well in average quality garden soil with good drainage. Water your new plantings 2-3 times per week for the first growing season. Fertilize in spring with a slow-release balanced fertilizer to promote new growth and the overall health of your plant. These plants are well-established in a 2 Gal. Southern Living Plant Collection pot and will tend to be 14 in. tall to 20 in tall when shipped.

This shrub is very resilient. We have dense clay soil but, with a good watering after planting, it seems very happy. The broad sturdy leaves vary from dark green, chartreuse, to bright red. If you’re looking for a screening shrub with color and texture, you might like this viburnum.
