Answer

The Plum Yew is still in season and would be fine with planting now. I can not say as to when we might be sold out.

What do I use to fertilize and/or feed it?

Answers

Plum yews don’t require a lot of fertilizer. An annual application of a basic organic fertilizer (e.g., Espoma Plant tone) will be sufficient; best in late winter/early spring. More important is overall soil health and drainage. Working in some organic matter (compost or finely shredded bark) to the bed before planting can help.

Gets big
This is a fern pine which grows moderately to a 10 inch trunk and 20 feet high unless you prune it to a smaller size. Just be aware since it says it only gets 3 feet tall - that's after 5 years. They make wonderful privacy screens and don't really shed leaves.

The plants were not as mature as ones I have found at nurseries. And, they were delivered with the box upside down. As a result, foliage was crushed and the dirt was dislodged from the roots. I planted them hoping for the best. One seems ok but I have already dug up the other and will return it.
