Purchases of the same item are not constructed the same
I recently purchased the above item but in Oxblood red. The blue was not available. Lovely planter. I purchased two at the same time. They look fabulous in my garden. I planted a flowering climber in them. As part of the planting process, I had to drill more drainage holes in the bottom of the planters. They are stated to be composed of resin composite material which in spite of its light weight presented some resistance to drilling. I loved that fact because it spoke to the hardiness of the material. However, with the second planter, the drill broke through the bottom, punching a larger, irregular hole in the planter. This planter bottom was made of PLASTIC!!!!! I was so disgusted. The plastic did not seem durable, either. The planters were made in China. I wish there was better quality control there. Or maybe this is a cost-saving measure. Buyer beware. I have purchased several items from Southern Patio (distributer/manufacturer). Never had a problem in the past. I gave it 3 stars because one was alright.

This Southern Patio Jamaica navy resin square planter looks good in the picture. However, it is made of a brittle resin . It is easily damaged - see photo. I guess when filled with soil it is functional, unless of course it breaks first. I would recommend you spend your money on something more substantial as this item is (to me) not acceptable. The finish on the resin is however very nice, but only time will tell if it fades with time.

I am so thrilled to have this beautiful planter. It is sheer gloss and elegance, and
is sure to add so much beauty to your garden, patio, deck or wherever you decide
to display it. It is well made and will be a eye-catcher inside or outside. This
can be used for flowers, plants or vegetable. It has beautiful handcrafted detail.
They are made from durable resin and will hold up for many years. It is actually
a cost-effective planter compared to the ceramic planters. They are also light-
weight, making it easier to move from place to place.
I really love the gloss finish. It stands out as if it is an expensive piece, when in
actuality it's very affordable. It measures 16" square, 16" high, 16" wide and 16"
in length, and is perfect for medium sized plants. This is made from ceramic and
resin composite. The container volume is 29.9 quarts. It does have drainage holes
and is UV weather resistant. The weight is approximately 15.43 pounds.

Southern Patio Colony 16 in. Dia Navy Resin Composite Square Planter, Blue
This is one beautiful planter. The very strong navy blue color (see first photo) practically glows, even in the shade and is simply brilliant in sunlight. The planter is a hefty 15 pounds which helps keep in in place in our frequent windy conditions with artificial plants in outdoor planters. A centered drainage hole is formed in the bottom for live plants.
The inside capacity easily takes a 5-gallon Homer bucket (see second photo) with ease. However, its appearance and decorative contribution is best made with its intended purpose (see third photo).

The beautiful blue gloss finish with the relief image on all four sides has an immediate WOW factor. It is a beautiful piece that is a very usable size, (16"X16"X16" outside dimensions), is UV and weather resistant,
and has a drain hole with removable rubber plug in the bottom. Being resin it weights 15 lbs empty, is very stable sitting on the ground, is much easier than concrete to move, and should stay much cooler, (and easier on plant roots), during our Florida summers. Holding 30 quarts it will hold a fairly large plant. It arrived very well packaged and in perfect shape. Every time a neighbor walks past our house they stop to admire this new planter.

Very high quality planter. It looks good on its own but great in a pair flanking a door or gate. Despite being composite material it is heavily weighted and very sturdy. It is just under 14 inches wide of planting space allowing potting of several plants. In my case I placed a center urn filler surrounded by spring decor. There is a good sized drainage hole for outdoor use that comes with a rubber plug in place to prevent dripping if indoors. The finish is somewhat glossy but doesn't seem prone to scratching. So far it looks great.

This is a very very nice looking planter. I can't wait to fill it with tall plants on the deck this summer.
The exterior is a gloss tan color, with black scroll and dial work. Very nicely done.
Dimensions are 16 inches high on the outside, can fit a 14 inch diameter pot inside and is 15 inches deep inside.
There is a drain plug that you can remove, allowing excess water to drain away.
The planter is light enough to move around but heavy enough to place a pot inside with a tall palm and will not tip. If the plant isn't heavy enough, just fill the bottom of the planter with sand or stones and it will hold steady.
This color and style will fit any decor style inside, modern or vintage.
I highly recommend this planter.

For some reason I was under the impression this planter was a ceramic blend. There is Ceramix on the packaging. It does say it is a resin composite. Turns out it is plastic and made in China. I like the big roomy size and square shape. It has a drain plug in the bottom which is a plus. It is fairly light weight. However, this planter is expensive for what it is and the paint should not chip off as easily as it does.. It came with several chips. It just looks cheap. Not a fan..
