The Southland 150 MPH 1,200 CFM Gas Walk-Behind Blower has the clearing power for commercial applications including large driveways and parking lots. This unit has 12 in. Love, I would check the oil level first. This machine has a low oil level shut down. You may need to add oil. If this don't correct the problem let me know.
I would first ensure that oil has been added to the engine. Pump the fuel bulb twice and pull to start. If it is not continuing to run that sounds to me like a fuel delivery issue. It might be possible there is a pinched fuel line.

No throttle. Operates at a single speed with no way to disengage the blower while leaving the engine running. That can be a little frustrating when you're turning a corner and want to stop blowing leaves for a split second, but then you end up sending them in all directions, but it has been a minor hassle (for me at least). I have a 1 acre property with ~10 pin oaks and a few other trees scattered through my backyard. This blower is a huge improvement over any handheld blower I've ever used.

Will this Blower move acorns ?
I am not sure if it will move acorns but it does have the power to move a lot of leaves. Acorns might be a little heavy and you might think about going big or use a pull behind rake. This machine has done a great job on my big yard and in a third of the time it took using my Craftman hand held which I thought did a good job.
I have a bunch myself and just used my new blower. Answer to your question is maybe. Depends on depth or thickness of the lawn the acorns are on and in best case (low lawn) you can corral them and shovel them up better than try to push them all the way to a boundary.
