Good quality pipe. Service was excellent and the gentleman cut the pipe to length and threaded it. Used this pipe as a DIY project for a curtain rod in our log home. The gentleman helped us locate the parts we were searching for on this project as well. The look was what we were going for. We put unions on so that the rod can be removed in order to pull curtains down for cleaning. Not what you would normally want this pipe for, but the quality is there. Already coated in black and a quick wipe down removed the oil and residue. Be mindful of the weight if you do a similar project and mount into studs or logs like we did for solid support.

I bought two of these and cut them down to 5' each to use for Bessey clamps. they work amazing, and they should last forever. I also love how these are threaded on both ends so i can cut these, and still be able to screw the bessey clamp to each end. Great stuff!

Poor quality steel. Made in Mexico. If you cutting your own threads, spend more on US steel.

This is the pipe that everyone's talking about...
And it's not because it's good stuff. It isn't. It's horrible. The currently available stuff is from Indonesia. Nearly every piece will come with thread defects (not to mention that they also *painted* the threads when they sprayed the pipe). One out of two will be so bad that you'll have to rethread them. And good luck with that. The quality of the metal is so poor that it's very easily galled while threading. I thought my cutting dies were bad, so I bought new ones (Ridgid). Same result. It will be through pure luck that you cut a usable thread in this stuff. Took me about four tries to get something usable. An incredible waste of material and time. And be sure to blow the rusty scale out of the pipe before you assemble it. Or better yet, try to find some US-made pipe at your local plumbing supply house.
