Not at all what we expected. Immediatley Returned.
The bags you receive are pretty tiny. We received 5 non descriptive bags with just a label on them, no indication on the size (IE: 0.5CF). Our immediate reaction was that we were scammed here. The contents look more like pebbles/river rock stones than pulverized granite. We returned all five bags at our local store immediately.

Half of the Product is Dust
I wanted to use the granite pebbles in my cactus and succulents soil mix. I thought I would be sifting it to get pieces that were more than a 1/4" out of my mix, but I was sifting out powder to get to the pebbles. Half of the bag is this clay like powder. I thought I could at least use it like sand, but it was mushy when wet. The pictures show the consistency of what I received as well as the sifted powder from only a quarter of the box.

The picture is not representative of the product. The product is not as fine as the picture represents. What I received wasn't even a gold like color as stated above (the label even said it was the "gold"). The DG was very course - larger pieces - not the fine, "ground" DG as described in the in product description. I gave it a one star rating because it does appear to be decomposed granite. I was looking for something more decorative- this is not it. See attached picture

        Works great and look fine.
I have had nothing but success with this product. I saw a "how to" video on YouTube where they said you should lightly wet it, then tamp it down with a tamper after installation. So that's what I've done and it holds like concrete. Yes, some small stones come up after it's walked one a bunch but that has not been a problem. Yes, it lightens a fair amount a few days or a week or so after installation. It looks great. I put some around small (12' sq) concrete stepping stones, much like the photo on this page, and it holds them in firmly. It's cheaper and easier than pouring concrete walks and in my opinion it looks a lot better.

It's difficult to find granite powder these days but this product suited my needs perfectly. It just needed to be ground in my mortar & pestle to produce the fine powder I needed. Then I sifted the result through a fine screen and voila.

The decomposed granite worked well between the natural flagstone on my patio. Because we have spaces up to 4" between some flagstones, we used decomposed granite instead of polymeric sand. We are happy with the appearance. Rated at four stars because the bags are small and expensive relative to polymeric sand.

i only received half of my order
Terrible. I had been waiting for 2 bags of decomposed granite. I ordered 4 bags but only received two.

                  falsely advertised
The product is advertised as being in .5 cubit feet and 20 pounds. The 20 pounds is accurate but the volume is about .2 cu feet. They even ship 2 (supposedly .5 cu. ft bags) in a box that can hold only .5 cu. ft. It is bizarre. If you must order this product from HD, order twice as much as you would need and by all means have it ship to the store. you might be able to get HD to refund half of the price. If not, return it and walk away.
