Multiple circuits in one cable allow for a reduction in labor including pulling and stripping conductors. The purpose of 12-2-2 is so that a contractor does not have to pull and strip two separate cables. The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at www.nfpa.org/freeaccess. The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.

Was just happy Home Depot still stocks 12-2-2. It's getting very hard to find. Local electrical supplier takes over a month to get it. Home Depot took 10 days.

WOW! Leave it to Southwire the contractor friendly company to come up with this product. This product adresses new code requirements for having the neutral present in switch box! I can daisy chain between switch boxes and not only have my 3 way but also feed in feed out done in one run! It also gives us a break with restrictions placed on multiwire circuits! I don't have the breaker handle tie requirement for shared neutral! Polot light switches on the line side of a 3 way. Single phase office cubicle outlets. I haven't thought of all the uses yet! I used to stack 2 runs of 12-2 under the staple to achieve this and use the same connector to meet 300.20. All done in one run. Simpull is like getting your wire pre lubed this stuff flies through bored holes!
