Southwire's EZ-In Mini-Split cable can be installed without the use of conduit. This product can be used indoors and outdoors. It is constructed with stranded bare copper THHN/THWN conductors with PVC insulation and Nylon jacket cabled together with an aluminum interlocking armor applied over the assembly.

We were able to complete our Christmas lighting extravaganza with the use of the 50 ft 14-4 electrical cable. Since the cable is water tight, the cable was buried underground for overall safety considerations. The cable is then snaked up our tree to benefit the lights. We used the black electrical wire for constant power meanwhile the red wire is controlled by a day/night sensor.

Product is marked incorrectly. It is not 14/4 but is 14/3. Very disappointed that a manufacturer does not know the industry accept standard for there cable. Makes me skeptical that any of their products meet spec or code.

This MC cable is extremely rigid. If you need or want it to bend on inside or outside corners, or any sharp turns, without great strain and causing the cable to bulge out, forget it. In the pictures it seems like standard MC conduit, but the plastic coating or something else makes this Southwire Mini Split MC cable very stiff with a large turning radius. In addition, you need a specialty MC cutter, cost is about $40, plus hard to find and much more expensive adapters and connectors. This cable overall is more difficult and expensive to use than standard flex conduit with THHN wires, outdoor rated UV treated 14/4 cable and other comm. cable connection options. Good pictures, reviews, marketing, but not a well engineered, economical or easy to use cable product from Southwire.
