When I saw the Southwire 9ft. 12/3 20amp power cord I thought it would be a great extension cord...
When I saw the Southwire 9ft. 12/3 20amp power cord I thought it would be a great extension cord for my pool. When I put the pool in I had already wired my deck with 20 amp. When the cord on my pump wouldn’t reach the outlet, I’ve had to use smaller gauge cords. Every one I’ve used got hot and even melted the plug on one of them. Thinking this would solve my safety issue, tried plugging it in and the neutral and hot prongs are backwards! Is it me? Bought the box, outlet and switch at HD. Good luck!

This is probably one of the heaviest duty cords I've seen. The cord looks heavier that the receptacle in the attached photo. The 12 gauge wire will easily handle most window large window A/C units or other 220-volt, 20-amp appliance or tool The cord length (9') is also long enough to reach an outlet which is out of reach of the six foot cords on most units. I'll be using this on my 220-volt jointer as the present cord is just short of my receptacle.

This is a very heavy duty extension, but is not designed for use with conventional receptacles. It is meant to be used on 220V circuits with a special plug, differentiating them from the standard 120V everyday outlets and appliance plugs. It is excellent quality, heavy duty and flexible so if you have a need for a 220V extension and can plug it into an acceptable receptacle, it is definitely of the higher quality. Not for the average homeowner unless the circuits to use the plug and receptacle on the extension are existing and an appliance requires it.

I ordered the Southwire 9 ft. 12/3 SPT-3 3-Wire 20-Amp Air Conditioner/Major Appliance Power Cord and it arrived quickly in a protective package. I needed it because I wanted to relocate my clothes dryer for an upcoming laundry room remodel. This is an excellent Appliance power cord. It's length is perfect for my needs. It's heavy duty construction means that it'll last for years to come. I would absolutely buy it again and I recommended it.

This is a good quality extension cord. The cord has uniform molding without any flaws. It is properly gauged. The cord ends are solid without any gaps or breaks in them. Used it for a few days so far and it has not had any issues with heat anywhere on the cord. It is as good as any other heavy appliance extension cord i have used in the past. I would recommend this product.

True this is a heavy duty extension cord however the plug configuration is not for the normal outlet. I have pictures to show the configuration of the input and output of this extension cord. If one was not careful in looking at the configuration of the plug and resepital you would be disappointed when you arrived home to find out it won't work in a normal household plug.

This extension cord is for up to 250 volt, up to 20 amp appliances such as some window air conditioners and uses the NEMA 6-20 connectors (see photos) and is 9 feet long when stretched. It is rated for indoor, dry environment use only. All that said it seems to be of high quality construction and is reasonably flexible at room temperature. This being summertime I did not test it at cold temperatures, but since it’s for indoor use anyway that shouldn’t matter much.
I could find no reason not to like this cord, they're pretty utilitarian and as long as it works there isn't much to complain about.

Sometimes projects get in the way and I can't plug in my 240 volt 20 amp air compressor to top it off. I started to look for parts to make a small extension cord and found this cord! It is perfect for what I need it for and was cheaper than making one!
