    1 teaspoon and NO water
I have killed 100s of fire ant mounds on my property with this product. I sprinkle 1 teaspoon over the top of the mound. I skip the watering step and allow rain to distribute the product poison into the mound. The next day I always see 100s-1,000s of dead ants around the base of each mound and the mound is DEAD forever. I have not seen one mound that this product did not kill and the mound never comes back. This product has worked for me 100 % of the time without fail.

      Best FIRE ANT killer around!
I'm really surprised by the negative reviews here!...I've used this for YEARS and have ALWAYS gotten excellent results!...Here In Alabama where the Fire Ants first made their grand entrance, they are FORMIDIBLE......and this stuff really works. BUT, you must follow the directions TO A TEE!....>Remember, it is activated by water.. As long as you do this....it works!

      Stinks and does not work!
I failed to pay attention to other reviews since I had never purchased an ant killer that didn't work before. I had read that this product stinks. I think all insecticides stink so I ignored this. Well it STINKS big time; you won't BBQ in your yard after using this product. I used the product as per the directions. As I applied this the ants disappeared instantly as they have in the past when I used other products. The ants returned a couple days later; some had their new nest touching the outer boarder of the circle I had placed around the original nests. After using the entire bag I have about the same number of ant hills. I bought this for the low price and ended up spending more as a result.

      Does absolutely nothing
Had about 12 mounds pop up. Followed the instructions and this stuff did not kill any of them.

        Bought by mistake
I carry fire ant killer with me in Ranger and car, but I don't carry water with me. I need killer that will work dry. Got two bags, opened one, taking other back.
          Worked for Me!
I, like another reviewer am surprised by the negative ones. Maybe this product doesn't target their specific type of ants but it works fine for me. Summer-time ants are a problem here in Phoenix and mounds seem to come up overnight. A couple of months ago, I had the biggest one I'd ever seen and used the product as directed. Okay, okay, I used more than directed and covered a greater area than recommended - but I didn't want them moving around the yard, I wanted them dead! The mound began disappearing in a couple of days and was completely gone in a week. For me it's cheap and it works!

          Surprised by the Negative Reviews
This product has always worked for me on first application to a mound. I live in Central Texas, and the summer is fire ant season. With just one application to a mound and nothing else, large mounds usually start to collapse within 2-3 days. I'll caveat by saying that I have not tried any other product but this one, but because I know it works, I've used it for years.
