Product Details

The Sports Afield Preserve Fireproof and Waterproof 40-Gun Safe provides all the essentials for security, giving you total peace of mind. Our proprietary Triple Seal technology creates a seal against fire, smoke, and water damage. This long gun safe is constructed out of industrial grade steel with a fortified Uni-Weld body and eight 1.5 in. steel locking bolts. It features a fully programmable electronic lock and comes with two Fail Safe override keys. The interior of the safe is fully carpeted and includes a barrel rack with 40 long gun positions, a Zero-Sag steel reinforced top shelf that supports heavier items, and three height-adjustable side shelves. This gun safe is California DOJ approved for secure gun storage and includes our best-in-class Lifetime Warranty that covers the entire safe against theft, fire, natural flood, locks, parts, and paint.

Q:Does this safe come fully assembled, or is assembly required and this comes in pieces? The safe is 533lbs fully assembled, so I am wondering how I would get this up the stairs.

A:  Dear Chris, Yes this safe comes fully assembled in the box. It will be a good idea to have some friends or family help move the safe in the desired location.

    Q:Does the 22" exterior depth include the handle and lock? i only have 23" to be able to get the safe in the room. Also, can I get the safe with a manual lock rather than electronic lock?

    A:  Dear Allen, thank you for the inquiry. The exterior dimensions do not include the handle or electronic keypad. We would recommend adding another 2-3 inches to the depth to account for the handle and keypad. The keypad that comes with this safe is the only option available for this model as we do not have a manual lock for it.         A:  You have to purchase the dehumidifier separate and the safe has a hole that allows you to run cord out the safe to plug in

          A:  Hello Aaron, Thank you for the inquiry. This safe comes with a single interior outlet that receives power from an external power cord that plugs into a wall outlet. You can put whatever you would like inside the safe and can use the single interior outlet for anything including a dehumidifier.

            A:  Yes, there is a power cord hole that will accommodate a thermal dehumidifier. However, as those use heat to dissipate moisture. I Chose to use Eva-Dry crystal dehumidifier to control the humidity. I have a Therm-Pro that indicates the humidity and temperature in the safe. I plug in the Eva-Dry about every 45 days to recharge the mini dehumidifier. I have one in a zip lock bag recharged and ready to exchange. I find it very effective and cost efficient. I used the same system when I lived in Oregon. Never had a moisture problem.

              Well worth but...follow-up
              As expected, I had to do extensive remodeling to the shelving to get things the way I wanted them. First, I moved all the shelves to the right side of the safe. This is the "short" side. Next, I trimmed the three long shelves to size. Next, I cut off all the barrel slots from the right side of the middle shelf and reused the side felt piping to finish off the edge. I then used Gun Storage Solutions rifle rods and handgun hangers to maximize space. Even with that, I could barely fit 20 long guns in the side that was "designed" to hold a lot more. Also, two shotguns, both with 28" barrels, would not go under the top shelf as the others did while it was at its highest points on the rails. I put one gun on each side and glued the Velcro to the felt inside the top of the safe. Don't get me wrong, I am still very happy with the safe and knew I would need to do this. Others however, may not be so forgiving.
