Questions & Answers

will this run a 15 amp power tool?

Its hard to read but it looks like the 120v outlets are rated 8.5 amps. Is that each one? if only one is used is it good for 17amps?
Asked by: Rich
Also please understand, the 15amp rating on the power tool is the maximum current it can pull. It doesn't mean the tool always pull that much of current. It fact it hardly does.

We have a 30 foot travel trailer with 30 amp electric- will this power the trailer lights, a/c, and a few appliances? We may want a generator for a few nights of "boondocking" away from campgrounds but my wife wants a/c and power....
Asked by: Skippy
My generator came with a 8.5 Amp breaker. That means this generator only has 935 Watts (8.5Amps) not the claimed 1400 Watts (12.73 Amp). It would run everything except the AC, most likely. Without the fridge amperage (listed on fridge) it is impossible to say for sure. It runs my home fridge Rated at 7.2 Amps max (=surge or start). Volts x Amps = Watts or 110v x ?A = ?W Just remember you have exactly 935 Watt constant power, with slight surge for starting electric motors (slow trip breaker).

I Ordered this 4,000/3,500-Watt Gasoline Powered Portable Generator From HD on line on 6/6/19 and it arrived today 6/12/19. Did everything that I was instructed to do and on the second pull it cranked up I let it run 5min like I was told then I put a load on it. I have a four way extension cord so I plugged it into the Generator and then plugged everything into the extension cord. I started with a 100 Watt bulb. Then my table saw, then my air compressor, Then my Skill saw. It never missed a beat. Let it run a couple of minutes. It cranked 120 volts with a heavy load on it. I am going to pour a slab for it next to my house and mount it their. It's purpose is to run my refrigerator and Freezer When we have a power lose from TECO. That could happen on any given day. Or when we get hit with another hurricane this season. I feel comfortable that I won't lose any of my food. I think I'll be able to run my Microwave and my coffee pot. Right now I tickled to death with it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So YOU think YOU wont get a Lemon? Ordered online and had it shipped to my home. I read the reviews but since I've never won the lottery I figured I wouldn't get one of the bad ones. Delivery was quick and the packaging had no external damage. Topped off the tank and added the correct amount of 30w oil to the crankcase. It would not start, not even try to turn over. Yes, the choke was on, gas on and the engine run switch was in the on position. I let it sit in my shed overnight. The next morning I wake up to find the entire tank of gas leaked out onto the wooden floor of my shed. While I was looking around trying to find out where the leak was coming from I noticed the spark plug boot was crooked. I reached in to make sure it was seated and the thing fell apart into about 4-5 small pieces. On closer inspection the terminal on the spark plug is badly bent and the rubber boot was torn. Obviously something smacked the motor hard at the factory prior to it being installed in the frame. I feel so embarrassed for the company that makes this product. What a joke!

I got the generator delivered to me 2 days ago, it didn't come with a quart of oil that it needed, so I bought the oil, filled the gas tank, turned the pet cock on, and I turned it on and pulled the cord.....nothing.....I pulled the cord for about 20 minutes, still nothing, nothing, nothing....I decided to look her over and see what might be wrong......THE SPARK PLUG is UNDER the gas tank...….it WASNT plugged into the wire......I plugged it in, pulled it 1 more time......it started on the 1st pull....I left it run for 30 minutes before I decided, it was a KEEPER....I shut it off, filled the gas tank once more, and covered it with a tarp, and set it in the back of the shed, I wont need it now til I lose power from a hurricane, a wise investment, even if I never have to use it, I recommend this generator to people with only a couple(2-3 outlets)(small home) needs....A ++++++++++++++

The good news is that when I called Customer Service, I was answered by a Real Person!! She quickly and efficiently had a replacement part sent to me via Fedex. Thanks. Now, as for set-up, it was relatively painless, with just a hick-up because I couldn't find the included oil funnel... After starting it up (on first pull), it ran fine. But it is LOUD. I hooked up a lamp to test output. All OK. Still haven't done a long-term usage test (e.g. a day's long run, or more). It seems sturdy and well-made. Not as hard to move around as anticipated for its weight. I like the fact that it has a voltage meter to see what it's putting out for voltage. The number of outputs is also impressive for this price point. I need 3, so this is good. We'll see how it does with a full load on it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Leaking Gas and worthless gaskets . Ok to be fair, I truly believe this can be a good generator, recieved it promtly and opened it right up. No broken parts and the mounts were ok also. So far so good. Then I put in the gas and oil and the Carb started leaking from the Gaskets!! So i called customer service which is really helpful by the way, but they said they would have to mail out new gaskets if I wanted.. I told them no thank you and that I would make new gaskets and seal them my self. So after changing the gaskets I tried starting it.... Took about 20 pulls and finally came alive, only thing is it wouldn't stay on very long , only way it ran was with choke fully closed. Oh yeah forgot to mention that gas was coming out of the air filter same as others have stated. Good on HOME DEPOT that they honor there customers and let me take it back to any store.!!! I got my credit back and bought a Husky 2250 , filled it up with gas and oil. STARTED RIGHT UP AND RUNS GREAT!! so as I said its a luck of the draw it seems on this unit. Good luck.

Last week the flyer hit my inbox advertising this unit for 149.00 delivered. I fly model airplanes and with the need for AC power at my field, I had been looking at generators. The Ryobi and the Honda are smaller units, but at almost 6.5 times the cost of this unit, I figured it was worth the try at a 149 bucks. I picked it up from the store just because I was easier. Box was bigger than I thought. Got it home and unpacked it. Looked like it was damage free. Picked up some oil and gas the next day and filled it up. 3 pulls later the little beast came to life. I went and plugged in my charger and piece of cake. Is it as quiet as the Honda, no, but it isn't 6 times louder than the Honda to justify the price difference. It is quiet enough. Is it a way heavier than the Honda, no, Honda is almost 46 pounds and this unit is 53. Overall, I think I am going to be happy with this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Recognize that you are getting what you pay for I've owned this generator for 18 months now. I did use it for 5 days after an ice storm a year ago, and it worked OK. I retested it every few months since purchasing it, to be sure it would be in working order when needed. About a month ago when tested, it had a carburetor failure where it started streaming gasoline all over the floor. Yes, it was stored as directed. (i.e. Empty of fuel, carburetor drained of fuel, etc.) Let's be blunt folks. You are looking to buy this generator because it is dirt cheap, not because you are looking for a well built workhorse. I will, come summer, rebuild the carburetor. but because I need to keep a small generator of this size handy for emergencies, I bit the bullet and bought a Honda EU2000i for a little under $1k. So if you buy this generator, do so recognizing that the reason it costs 1/5th as much as a top-of-the-line generator of comparable capacity is because it is cheaply made and that it will have a short mean time between failures.

At least the neighbors cell phones stayed charged among other things powered. We were out of power for more than 5 days. I was pleased with the run time on 3.6 gal of fuel so even being able to run it intermittently for lack of fuel was very helpful. I live I a condo so the generator sat outside my door under the stoop and faithfully fired up on every first pull. My only problem is where to store it for future use. I have to say that no one in town or surrounding area had generators left before the storm hit so, with limited hope, I ordered online on Tuesday and Home Depot had it at my door in 2 days with free shipping! It was supposed to be here on Friday but instead it came Thursday and the hurricane hit on Saturday night! I was so surprised and grateful because I thought it might not make it before UPS shut down. Not sure if Home Depot rushed it out knowing I was in the path of destruction or not but knowing how they support communities in time of disaster, I think they did.
