The shipping label on my generator said 95lbs, it is fairly heavy and I do recommend using two people to lift it especially if it has 3.6gallons of gas in it.

What size is the gas connnection for natural gas operation? I’m guessing its 1/2”

The only onboard fuel take is for gasoline. The generator comes with I think a 6 foot hose to connect an LPG cannister. The LPG fuel take is whatever size you connect to it.

HOW MUCH DOES THE SPORTSMAN 4000 WEIGHT

It weighs 90 lbs. empty and is distributed in a way that you should get a wheel kit for it. Its a big awkward box to try and carry around. Plus, its HOT after you run it and you risk burning your mid seXtion. They were backordered when I bought mine so I strapped it to a large enough furniture dolly. As of me writing this review they are available for shipping and I just ordered one for $39.99.

Can u run a refrigerator,tv,,and electric heater on a plug in

Check the wattage on the appliances. Although the refrigerator doesn't draw all the time, they usually have a pretty pull and if you're running the TV and electric heater (another big draw) you might end up going over the maximum wattage.

Bought it two weeks ago Feb 2021 for the summer for any power outages. I didn't know that I will be using it this soon for something totally different. This generator luckily came with a car battery charger plug and cable. It was a life saver today on a winter snowy morning. See picture.

Snowmagedon21 Life Saver
Bought this back in October, while 50% off, after having a couple day power outage and losing all the food in my fridge, but didn't have to use it until Monday. The Snowpocalypse that hit Texas caused us to lose power for over 59 hours and this bad boy ran constantly. We added oil Monday morning, hooked up a bottle of propane and it started on the 4th pull. While it's not big enough to run a whole home, it ran my fridge, two space heaters, a tv, and a light. In my opinion, this this has already paid for itself.

While I haven't had the opportunity to actually use this generator in practice, I did want to review my initial thoughts related to my unboxing and break in. I plan to really only use this for emergency backup and possibly to power my travel trailer while boon docking. I was specifically looking for a dual fuel generator with a 30 amp RV plug. I had a Predator 4000 that I sold (it worked great as well) but it only ran on gas and didn't have an RV plug and wouldn't support 30 amps. Having the option to run this off of propane was essential. I didn't want to have to bring extra gas on a camping trip. I can simply remove one of the tanks from my RV and I can hook this up for good, clean power. It also helps in an emergency situation when the gas stations may not have power to dispense gasoline. Propane is much easier to obtain and has a more stable shelf life than gas. This was shipped to my door and despite seeing some concerns about damage during shipping in some reviews, mine was in perfect condition. I read many reviews that said breaking it in using gasoline is best for the long term performance and lubrication of the seals so I did that. I ran it for a period of time with no load, then a small load, and then a bigger load. It started right up on the first pull. After this initial break in, I changed the shipping oil out. It had noticeable metal shavings in it. After that, I tested it out on propane. Again it started right up on propane and ran beautifully with several different loads on it. For $290 on sale, I am not sure you can beat the wattage and the features. It is a little on the louder side but mostly on par with similar 4000 watt non-inverter models. It also seems well constructed for that price range as well. They now offer a wheel kit for this model which I will eventually be buying. It is a bit heavy to be dragging around.

Ordered during a special sale, so the generator was ~ 50% less than usual, around $259, so a great deal. Brought home, filled it with oil (not provided, had to purchase separate), and hooked up to propane tank. Started on 2nd pull. Let warm up for a few minutes, and then connected my 5th wheel to it. Ran camper with TV, a few lights, and small space heater for about 1/2 hr, no issues. Then turned off heater & turned on main A/C unit - tone changed on generator, but handled like a champ. I forgot to turn on microwave, but think should have enough power to run microwave & 1 AC unit at same time. Very happy with purchase. My intended use is for back up power at home, as well as when we travel with camper long distance, in case we have to overnight somewhere or we lose power at a campground. Without gas in the tank, it is fairly light, around 80-85 lbs. I thought real hard about an inverter generator, but compromised by using a surge suppressor that I had on hand for camper already. I wouldn't use for permanent power, but think it will serve well for short/medium trips, or the occasional power outage. If you find it as a special deal, it is 1/3 the cost of it's competition for a duel fuel generator, and a great buy. Even at its normal price, it is competitive in the 3500 watt/4000watt surge range, but on sale, no one can touch it. Noise level, well, it is a generator. Running in the bed of my truck, parked just ahead of the hitch, from the inside, it provides a nice hum to sleep too :-) Probably not the friendliest for national park camping, but I have a 37 ft fifth wheel, not doing too much boondocking where that would be an issue - most places I go already have power, or in an emergency, it shouldn't be an issue. I originally had intended to buy an inverter generator, but they didn't quite have enough power when using the dual fuel option (ie propane is my preferred option for convenience & less chance of gumming up the carburetor.) It also fits in the bed nicely with 5th wheel attached (cover sold separately), so I can travel with a few totes, my extra propane tank, generator, and a few other odds & ends, pretty neatly. I have only used for 2 hours so far, but very happy with my choice.

!!WARNING!! DO NOT BUY
I purchased the 7,500/6,000 watt generator over a year ago. It was only used twice during a power outage. I even made sure I ran the engine every so often and checked voltage. The last time I used this the engine shut off not too long after changing out the propane tank. After checking the tank and finding it still had fuel, I tried to restart the generator, but it was LOCKED UP. Since it is out of the one year warranty I called around looking for a small engine repair shop. All but one was willing to look at this Chinese engine. After having him look at it I was informed that the piston rod snapped and it would be cheaper to buy a new generator than fix this one, especially since parts are impossible to find. Don't waste your money on these imports.

DOESN'T MAKE ELECTRICITY
So ... With a hurricane in the gulf, we purchased this unit , stayed in the box in the shed for three days and the day before the Storm, unboxed it, filled it with oil, hooked up the propane and it fired right up. But.. Aren't they supposed too produce electricity? Customer support said "Your brushes are probably worn out" In four minutes??? So they sent us a new AVR (AUTOMATIC VOLTAGE REGULATOR) (A week after hurricane Laura was gone) Now .... It still DOESN'T work and I am a ASE CERTIFIED auto repair technician I can't imagine how thrilled your basic handyperson would be with this
