I've always tried to use Square D brand electrical components. Their parts, breakers and fuses are typically stocked by any electrical supply and Big Box Hardware stores.
I secured this safety switch for a new shop that is in the construction phase. It will provide me with the capabilities of a 4-wire design with 3 blades and fuse holders and 1 neutral switch. Operation at 120/240-Volt AC up to 200 Amp. And the NEMA type 3R metallic enclosure for outdoor use will allow installation on the exterior of the shop for emergency disconnecting means and servicing.

I have never seen a Square D product that was less than a five star item and this is not exceptio...
I have never seen a Square D product that was less than a five star item and this is not exception. Now I can add Square D customer service. The components were perfect shape but the cabinet lever bracket and door were slightly bent up. The switch functioned normally. I notified the vendor Schneider Electric for their information and their reply was an immediate replacement of the switch. That is customer service at it's best.

Another premiere product from Square D. In my experience, one cannot surpass the offerings of Square D. Preferentially, I have used Square D products to the fullest extent of their availability since they acquired Rodale Electric. Very fortunately, 28 years of production under the flag of Schneider Electric has not diminished that quality. The enclosure is rated 3R so it is rain tight with the drip edge seen on Photo 1. The switch enclosure is complemented by all the sheet metal punches required for mounting, attaching buss bars, a variety of knockouts and a rain tight hub. See Photo 2. With the switch thrown, both the rapid-acting spring mechanism and the physical quench shield suppress any potential arcing. See Photo 3. Connecting cables and conduits is conveniently done in a workmanlike manner because an ample number of variously sized knockouts route both feeder and branch circuits through every surface of the enclosure. See Photo 4. The switch accommodates types H (non-current limiting), K (fast) or R ("rejection" / time delay) blade-end fuse cartridges. I'm using FRN-R-200 in my application. Because of its substantial construction and good finish, I've never had a problem with creep about fuse holders or lugs on a Square D switch or panel-board.

Square D 200 Amp 240-Volt 3-Pole 3-Phase Fused Outdoor General Duty Safety Switch. This is a Square D or Schneider Electric 200 amp indoor / outdoor heavy-duty safety disconnect. This is not a normal residential disconnect but a heavy-duty commercial type a must have for three phase power.
This will handle almost all three phase motors up to 60 HP or 240-volt single phase applications up to 15 HP.
This heavy duty fusible disconnect that holds several types of fuses from H,K or even R fuses. Fuses are not included but available at your local Home Depot store or at Home Depot.com. Made to exceed all safety specs and has an OSHA protected lockout. If you are not a licensed professional electrician, you should not even attempt to install this disconnect.
