This switch certainly will work on an air compressor used to supply air tools if the compressor is driven by an electric motor. I used the one I purchased to do just that. The switch is a basic pressure sensitive electrical switch, with a blowdown valve to bleed off compressor head pressure so that the compressor motor does not start under head pressure should that feature be needed or used. The switch can be used with single phase motors of either 120 volts or 240 volts and is not for three-phase motors of any voltage. It is best to use the switch at the factory set pressure of 125 PSI. However, with proper knowledge, it has some adjustment capabilities.
The only difference in the 9013FHG19(J code is pressure setting) is the 1/4"External pressure connection and the 9013FHG12(Pressure code setting, J code) is 1/4" Internal pressure connection. All other features/functions are same including electrical rating. Regards, Customer Care
You have to supply your own brass fitting 1/4" MPT and your own 1/4" copper tubing that will connect to your pressure device. The spring loaded apparatus is located within the pressure switch itself.
