Yes at the top. Make sure the opposite side has basic breakers and not appliances. The "equipment" installs either side and below the surge protector for best protection of the expensive toys!
Other than temperature I don't see any reason it would not be an issue. The specs for this show an operating temp of -4˚ F to 149˚. I am not sure if this is accounting for any insulation/heat coming from the panel, etc.
This item will FIT into any QO panel. But it will only WORK in a "plug on neutral" panel. If your panel does not have "plug on neutral" you must use the one with the pigtail wire.
If it is a QO yes. It is designed for that style panel. It will not fir HomeLine.
From what I've researched it will improve longevity, that is to say that any surge will be shared between the multiple SPDs and so they won't go bad as quick. I assume it also means they can handle double the max surge, but it seems that a surge that high is extremely unlikely.
THe electric side of the phones and WiFi are protected AC only. Just about all damage comes in the cable. Therefore install a surge protector for the screw-in cable as well.
Yes the QO250PSPD QO plug-on neutral (PoN) compatible SPD securing up to a 50 kA surge current rating per phase. It will protect your panel. 5 Year Warranty - $50,000 downstream equipment protection. It is still recommended to protect equipment with surge strips especially on electronic equipment. Regards, Customer Care
According to the specifications it protects against all spokes, this would include surges from lighting and other surges.
If you have one main disconnect feeding two side by side panels then yes one on each panel. The AC is covered. Make sure the Surge Protector is at the top and two lighting circuits at the adjacent side. Then put the equipment 240 and 120v either side below the surge protector.
This is a whole house breaker that snaps right on to the bus bar, thus a solid connection, and it looks a he11 of a lot better than the floating box with the tail. .
