I was able to self install. Not that difficult, but does involve cutting off power for a few minutes. One screw on a breaker to tie into. I mounted our inside the panel using 3m velcro. It's sidewise so that antenna is outward. It connects to our garage wifi fairly easy. Took a couple of tries to get solar monitoring up. Did have to call tech support to have then dial them in. Since then, no problems. Has been slowly identifying separate power uses. It's cool to see the always on for we have an outside koi pond that has a water pump & aerator on 24/7 plus our small indoor tank, wifi & routers, and few other small devices.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm trying to do my part to not be wasteful. To me that starts with visibility. I'm in a house with 2 boys and a wife, all of whom do have a tendency to leave on lights, or fans or plug-in hair products. I have high hopes for this product bringing us all that visibility. Here's my take so far a week or so into it all. Install was relatively easy - I do consider myself relatively handy and followed common-sense approach and some how-to videos to help guide me. I did have to buy a 2-pole breaker. Once it was connected and fully installed, it turned on and started connecting to the app. I don't know how long it's supposed to take to recognize all my various appliances or how it figures out what's what. So far it's found a fridge, AC and a couple other things. I really like the ability to easily add notifications if something turns off (e.g. fridge). I think that the fridge if found isn't actually the fridge b/c it claims to be shutting down during the day which isn't the case. So perhaps it has to recognize things and then you manually adjust? I'm still figuring it out. So far though I'm cautiously optimistic! The app is also simple and intuitive to use.

It can save you money if you adjust your usage through the app. The app you download on your phone or tablet and it was easy to connect.Once I connected the app I started to see appliances connected. It tells you in the app the appliances running and the energy it’s consuming. Because you can see the status of that you can choose if you want that appliance running or not. By doing this , it saves you money you had no idea that was consuming energy in the first place. It breaks down a estimated cost per month for usage for that appliance running too. Amazing! It didn’t recognize all my appliances in my home. I haven’t had it hooked up long, maybe two weeks now. I think that is the only downfall to this to me, maybe it will the longer it’s connected. Installing it was a little difficult with not being electrical experienced. Took about 30-35 minutes. Think I should have had a electrician install it for me so it would have been quicker to get it connected. Now when I’m away from home I can choose to decide if I want retain appliances in when I’m not home to save more money in my pocket. This is cheaper to control your appliance usage then buying high-end appliances that are WiFi enabled to control through their apps.

I've had solar for a few years and although I could see through the inverter app how much I was producing, I was never really aware of the full picture. This device has made it much easier to understand how I use energy, and how to optimize my consumption. Very educational!

Easy to install - we installed outside of electrical box. On wall next to box. Had an electrician connect power wires. Easy enough to do, but if my insurance company has questions, I have paperwork. We have solar monitor installed as well. It's been a week - still waiting for devices to be identified.

Device works great. Takes about a few weeks to start recognizing individual usage devices but overall good for monitoring what’s going on. Easy to I stall

Product does not meet expectations. Sense continues to downgrade the App and provides useless answers when questioned. Also, there stealing your data and selling it for a profit. The system requires there servers to operate.

After a month it has barely recognized 5 devices and I don't believe it is guessing the correct devices. Not very useful.

Pretty easy to install. But use a professional if your not comfortable working inside the breaker box.

Worked exactly as described. Fairly easy to set up outside of the needed pigtails for a 240V circuit but very quick once installed. Excellent device and great information.
