A: Hi Slip, unless the metal baluster is secured with epoxy, it will always be able to twist at some point. We have a product called Tap-N-Twist that is used to install hollow metal balusters without the use of epoxy. However, to install the baluster, it is twisted into position. The baluster is still secure and provides the needed structural support. If you do want a baluster that does not twist or spin after installation, using epoxy is your best solution. A: The spindles are held on by a rubber and groves inside of it, they can easily slide up and down by hand.
A: First it is a square opening on Square rod so now spinning. Second there is a rubber gasket inside that hold it in place.
A: It won’t spin because it is square. However, I did apply a little glue to the bottom so it would be completely stable. I am very satisfied with the product and my staircase looks amazing.

A: Hi JT, while these kits can be used on carpeted stairs, the bottom portion of these kits - the ones that actually connect the baluster to the bottom of the stair - must be installed directly into the wooden tread below the carpet. The carpet will not have any holding power or provide any stability, so the kits must be installed as if the carpet wasn't there.
