A:Â Sure, but why? Get pine or hardboard for a good paint finish. Oak has such a strong grailn it will always show through.

A:Â We have white risers that have been repainted and are marked again with boot and shoe marks. Recommend cover for risers that avoid scuff marks.

I purchased 6 pieces for landing to match treads. I sanded with 220 grit, pre-condition and 1 coat of stain then a bit more stain then 3 coats of poly - one coat a day. Stairtek is good quality, Affordable wood. Risers Look great as landing and matches treads beautifully.

3 of the boards border on not useable. 2...
3 of the boards border on not useable. 2 are cracked on both ends at the wood joints and another one on one end. One board has chunks chipped out of the surface. Definitely poorly made and should have been caught by quality control. Wondering if some in the same order are like this.
