A: No the return end is 11.75 so it extends past the back of the tread 1.25"

Did not meet expectations. Joinery was mediocre, all treads had open miters, and some had gaps along the return. There was no attempt to match grain or color in the glue-ups, heartwood and sapwood were together, as well as adjacent plain sawn and rift sawn boards. In addition, there were tight knots and/or sap streaks in most of the treads, and there was some tearout on the bullnose of every one. Although touted as reversible, one side was significantly better. One tread had a 3/32" cup to it. If you can hand select these at your store, you might be able to build a set of stairs that looks as good as your flooring. Unselected, a medium to dark stain is needed to hide the drastic variations. Be sure to add some extra in the budget to get these smooth and flat.

solid product, fast shipping.

I ordered these red oak stair treads through homedepot.com only because they could ship them, free to me, to a home depot store in Alaska. I was impressed! They are straight and square, no warping or cupping. They are what i hoped iwas getting in a 1" hardwood tread. Satisfied Customer.

Well made stair tread

This is a welll mde product. The 10.5" deep version is only available online. In the end I went with the 11.5" version. Same product, same manufacturer. If you buy them in the store, pay attention to the eveness of the color (if you care) and watch out for damages. Not all shoppers are as carefull as you. I redid the carpeted stairs in my home, removed the old treads and risers. The result came out great. Glued and nailed, no problems with noisy treads anymore. No cracks developed since installation (5 weeks ago).
