AnswersThey are made so well they will last longer than ANY other one on display. The only thing ever ruined one for me was having been dropped in a swimming pool. Also they don't take to being left out in the rain (Don't ask).

I own a total of 4 of these now. They are reliable, durable, easy to use. I have abused these and they still work great. I have had all of them for ten years or more. Best of all they are Union made in my own home state! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The Stanley POWERLOCK II 25' Tape Measure is a champion of longevity. I purchased this tape measure approximately 37 years ago for a home project and it still works flawlessly to this day. Although I do own other tape measures, this Stanley POWERLOCK II is my “go-to” tape for anything I need to measure quickly & accurately. It really holds up to time and use...This tape measure has been dropped off ladders and roofs, it has been dragged behind a truck down the road after falling off the truck, it has been exposed to sun, rain, snow, it has been dropped in the water, snow and in mud. It has been left outside exposed to the elements but, it works perfectly and the tape, is as easy to read as it was the day I bought it...it retracts perfectly and the blade lock still locks securely and won't budge until I unlock it. The exterior cover is not very pretty and has some battle-scars to prove it has had some use, but, this tape measure works so well, I use it just about every time I need to get a measurement. Stanley tape measure, were always a decent product. Now the tape itself seems to be made thin. I use a tape all day long. Don't think this one will last long. Already having problems with it retracting. I will switch brands after this one breaks, which I'm sure wont be long.
