What are the yellow things for that came with the sawhorses?

Asked by: Meg
Thanks JDM for the part # for these V grooves. I have used a rubber mallet to attach these to the sawhorse. I like that they are a tight fit as plastic will expand over time and become loose.

Possible to add a 2 x 6 to top?

I prefer adding 2x6's over 2x4's to the top for stability. Is it possible to do this with this saw horse?
Asked by: Kurch
You could use either. I prefer a sheet of ply wood with 2" Styrofoam when using a circular saw to save the ply wood and it's cheaper than ply wood.

I bought a set of these about 15 years ago and they finally wore out so I thought it was time to buy a new pair. The new version is very cheaply made and not nearly as good as the original version. They seem a bit unstable and the extensions for width are very very flimsy. Not very good quality for the price! Basically I'm disappointed with the product.

The sawhorses are heavy plastic with multiple adjustments which provide convenience for do-it-yourself work. I question how these would stand up over time to daily use but for occasional use, they work just fine. I typically lay a door slab across two sawhorses as an outside work table. They stand up well to the weight of large portable tools, such as a 10" sliding miter saw, while working off the door slab. I've used one set of sawhorses on several dozen occasions for four years and they are still in good shape. In my experience, the folding platform near the bottom of the legs has separated from the leg a couple of times and is not particularly easy to re-attach, and the feet tend to drop out of the bottom of the legs occasionally. These are not substantial problems but may indicate the quality of the sawhorse as an moderate-use tool and not a heavy-use tool. I have purchased these as gifts so I do recommend them within their limitations.

My mother bought a pair at a garage sale, and we happened to use hers. We were sold, they are lightweight, and very strong, and adjustable. I believe they will hold 1,000 pounds on 2 sawhorses! There is also a bracket that will hold your 4x4 or 2x4 in place.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the pads on the bottom of the legs fell off... the pads on the bottom of the legs fell off and one was lost before I left the parking lot. two more fell off on the trip home ( 2 miles). There is no way to secure them without using a fastener (screw in my case). I consider the product a single use plastic.

Easy to set up, good extension and height flexibility, easy to store. Because they are light and easy to carry and set up, it is necessary to be careful about balance points. But for what they can do, they are very good.

Extremely flimsy... had to return the first set I bought because the bottom support broke when I tried to fasten it... 2 more sawhorses did the same thing (in the store before I purchasted them). Ended up replacing with Rigid.
