Pump itself works great. Moved 1200 gallons in less than 20 minutes. However, pump is not a Stanley, but labeled and sold by LIFAN. Apparently LIFAN purchased Stanley (I expected this from an online review I read, so was not surprised when it arrived). Main reason for not giving a rating of excellent is that the owners manual pictures, diagrams, and instructions do not exactly match the product. Some of the engine controls described do not exist, others are located differently than in the pictures. It took a couple of hours of rereading the manual and puzzling over the controls before I was comfortable trying to start it. Also, the inlet and outlet ports on the pump are not located in the same place as shown in the manual and there are no markings on the pump to illustrate which is which. It was fairly easy to figure it out by observing which port had a back flow valve (inlet) and which one didn't (outlet), but it should be marked clearly on the pump and the manual.

It works as intended so far & appears very well built but there is not a single place where the word “Stanley” appears on it. Instead, it says “Lifan”. I assume this is a cheap Chinese substitute or perhaps it’s just a Lifan engine driving a Stanley pump. At any rate I didn’t realize this until I opened the box & it said the item was non-returnable so I just kept it & will see what happens, wondering if Home Depot played a prank on me.

We purchased this pump and have yet to be able to use it since as soon as we filled it with gas and oil, gas started pouring out of the air cleaner. after shutting off the fuel to it and letting the filter dry out we turned the fuel back on and started it immediately and then it started pouring out again. So we have yet to be able to try it out to see how it compared to our Honda pumps its just a shame we are now stuck with an expensive tool that we cannot use. I guess we should've stuck with what we know works.

Instruction manual was useless.
The diagrams in the manual don't match the model included. Absolutely NO instructions are included with the hose kit. Still don't know how to attach the needed hose to operate the pump. I went on line to the suggested website, still no help. It was just a PDF file of the same owners manual. Customer service no help either.

This water pump is excellent. it is set up on the back of a pickup with a 500 gallon water tank and does a great job of pumping the water in to the areas that need to be irrigated. It is quiet in operation and efficient. We have been using it for about a month and it definitely meets and exceeds expectations.
