What are the screen options for this type of door?

I love the look of this style yet want the open air feel sans the bugs. Are there screen doors available and if so how to install?

There are retractable screens sold. Don't buy the cheaper ones usually offered at about half the price of the higher quality products. I have double outswing french doors with retractable double screens installed inside the doors. Also, I have the retractable screens installed on the two other entry doors outside like a regular screen. The only negative to the retractable screens is that my cats have learned to slip under the mesh, but the screens have been in place for at least 10 years and the mesh needs to be replaced where the cats have stretched the bottom mesh. I love the ease of not having to manage screen doors. Magnets hold the screens together or you can leave one screen permanently extended by the small bolts that insert in the top and bottom of door frame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hinges are rusting after only two months. Bottom of the... Hinges are rusting after only two months. Bottom of the door is swelling. I expected better from a door that is supposed to be for exterior use. My only recourse was to uninstall the door, frame and all, return it to Home Depot, wait for a replacement and then pay to have it reinstalled. Not a real practical solution. The manufacturer is at fault here, the door should be made better.

A few frustrating aspects- instructions are not included for this door, there is no "plug" to keep the door shut during installation, and the installer has to insert dozens of screw covers which could have been done during production before shipping. For spending $1K on a door, these kinds of details should be expected to be addressed.

Of course you can't tell by looking at the online pictures, but as it turns out this is a very cheap looking door. I was not expecting "wood grain" plastic trim around the glass, with unsightly screw holes on the inside (cheap little white plastic plugs "finish it off"). There is really nothing aesthetically pleasing about this product, especially the closer you get to it...which means all your guests when they come to the front door. I do not recommend.

Was scratched and chipped all over. I would never buy again that brand. I kept it because i did remove my old door and need it to put something. I’m replacing Steves&Sons door tomorrow. Such a waste 1100$ in the garbage. I hope no one buys those products.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The door is good but there are issues. Not all... The door is good but there are issues. Not all of the plastic plugs are flush with the plastic molding around the glass. There is daylight shining through where the weather stripping along the T molding is too short to meet the weather stripping at the top of the jamb. The doors and frame are sturdy.

Our contractor installed this between our family room and a three-season porch (in MN it's really a one-season...) and we really are pleased. He said this is a high-quality door and installation was fine. He commented that french doors are notoriously challenging to install and this one was typical.

If you take them off the frame, they measure 48.75 inches. The lead door is smaller than the stationary door. Overall I’m happy with the doors, just wish they sold them without the frame.

No instructions on the top/bottom latching pieces was included; screws on trim on inside of door with handles were in crooked and scraping the other door. Tried to fix but screw holes were stripped. Other than that seems to be good quality.
