Stiebel Eltrons elegant surface-mount CK heater is perfect anywhere quick heat is needed. Designed in Germany, this quiet fan heater quickly warms an area or maintains a comfortable temperature. Perfect for both retrofit and new construction, the European downdraft design heats a space evenly. This heater is ideal for bathrooms, basements, offices, playrooms, 3-season porches, cabins, campers or RVs, and mobile homes. The built-in fan is extremely quiet in operation at only 49.7 db. A thermostat with an adjustable knob for setting temperature is located on the right side of the unit. In rooms larger than 215 sq. ft., the heater can be operated through a conventional wall-mounted room thermostat. It is designed with a frost protection setting. The lowest thermostat setting will maintain above freezing temperatures in an appropriately sized space. The external casing is made of stove-enameled sheet steel and its sides from plastic. This heater is designed to have its components recycled at the end of its useful life.

Needs indicator light
This product would be hugely improved with an LED light to indicate that it is on. In our house it is frequently left on (because it has stopped heating after temperature has be reached). Later it kicks back in and heats again--an empty room, wasting electricity. Can't believe no one thought of this! If I were to buy another wall mounted heater it would have an "On" light.

The thermostat will keep the room to temperature. If you don't want the unit to stay on and heat the room, you will have to turn it off at the switch. Thank you for your review.

This little heater packs a big punch
I bought this heater for a commercial office, where the 6-foot baseboard heater was under a desk. The occupant of the desk was roasting while the other occupant wore a sweater (can you say Radiant Heat?). This little unit mounted to the wall, and was very simple to install. The fan was quiet and threw the heatbinto the room, allowing the air to circulate heat, rather than heat only the unit itself. Very efficient, and withbthe dial visible on top, and not tucked away on the sides like some other models, extremely user friendly. I would recommend this heater to anyone with a small home office or open, drafty areas.

Frost protection does not work
I originally selected this heater because of its frost protection feature. However, the heater works BUT the frost protection is no longer functioning even when the temperature is in the low 30's (Third winter using this...I am in Zone 5B Cold !)
Look elsewhere if you need frost protection to keep your plants or an appliance (Like a fridge) at above freezing temperatures. I have just lost plants & food as the temperature in my kitchen was too low for the fridge compressor to do its job. :(

Excellent Value
I installed this in a 12' x 12' basement home office this past summer, and it was a very easy install with some basic household electrical wiring ability. So far it's kept the room cozy, and the fan noise is audible but not enough to interfere with conversation or telephone. It runs for about 2 minutes every 15 minutes to keep the office comfortable. I really like that only takes up about 12" of wall space, compared to an average 1500W baseboard heater which is over 36" long.

The CK 150-1 does not come with a power cord. The CK Premium or CK Plus model does come with a cord to plug in. Hope this helps you.

Nice Unit, 1500 Watts, Easy to Install
Nice Unit 120VAC- used in my garage just to keep temps above freezing to keep my car detailing supples from freezing. I can also work in there as its insulated, but not super warm.

This little heater was a perfect fit for my wife’s...
This little heater was a perfect fit for my wife’s she shed. An easy direct wired installation that puts out just the right amount of heat to keep the cabin comfortable. Like the freeze protection feature to put a little heat in when the cabin is not in use.
