Yes, took about three hours to install it and a water softener. Had to modify plumbing to look good.

Can this unit be wired to my old HWH breaker of double 30 Amps in one breaker?

Can this unit be wired to my old HWH breaker of double 30 Amps in one breaker?
Asked by: SJ
I would think not. Your old water heater more than likely had a 30 amp 240 volt service. That is a little over 7 KW. Your looking at over 14 KW of demand. You need to run the specified electrical to this unit. My unit was 15 KW. I had to run two 30 amp 240 volt lines. That means two double breakers. No cheating its dangerous.

Can this unit be winterized? That is, drained during the winter season?

Can this unit be winterized? That is, drained during the winter season?
Asked by: Dave
Yes you will need to buy the right valves for this unit. These are three way valves with a drain/flush tap (its a hose bib). The hot water valve has a pressure relief tap. See photo. These cost between 50 and 100 dollars. You really should get them. It may be a code requirement in your area. I have three tankless water heaters and they all have this setup. Very handy.

Tempra24 Are this supposed to be 2 double pole 50 amp breakers? The one we have keeps tripping the 30 amps

Asked by: Darren
If you have 30 amp breakers, these are too small and will trip due to overload. You need to have 2 - double pole 50 breakers.
