Only need one pack, why am I required to buy an entire case?

Beats me. Try Lowes, they have pine shims for $10.48. I have used the Straight Flex shims and they seem to work fine, but they do expand and buckle a little if left up for a while, but didn't cause any problems.

How thick are these shims?

Asked by Kieffer February 19, 2020

About 1/16 inch. I cut them in 1-inch lengths and double them up for 1/8-inch tile spacers. They don’t compress like plastic spacers and can bridge large thickness variations in rustic tiles.

Can theses be used to make a accent wall can they be stained

Very handy material..I used it to even up door frames, used between drywall/concrete board to wall studs, etc. Too bad it isn't sold in the stores and has to be ordered. I also used them to establish a temporary consistent "stop" for my tilework around the bathtub (see attached photo)
