Do not know the answer to that one. Mine has never quit like that. You might check the extension cord yesterday I spent a half hour trying to figure out why it was not working and after checking the house breaker, the extension cord connections i found that the plug in the garage had pulled too lose to make contact.

if you hit a rock or hard object it will bounce back at you....and you will have to move the rock ...its is a small unit not meant to move mountains.
No they are permanently mounted and you actually need them mounted very helpful when pulling back.
