Does this unit need to stand vertically when in use, or can it be laid down horizontally? And even if it's okay to run horizontally, would it be recommended, considering the weight and tugging of the hose in that position might put undue stress at the garden hose connection point? I've been reading various reviews where there have been issues with the hose connection point being cheap and comprised of plastic parts (some have replaced with a brass piece), eventually leaking at that spot, so the last thing I would want is to stress it out to the point where I accelerate the possibility of it starting to leak.

per instruction manual (link provided on HD's item info page) it's meant to be used upright only

Did I read the specifications correctly that the hose is only 20 inches long?

Asked by: Don
What I just read said the hose is 240 inches long.

Will this work to clean landscape rocks?

The previous owners did not take care of the landscaping. Will this remove the built up dirt on the rocks? Thanks!
Asked by: sandi
Yes, to the limits of ground's ability to soak up the water if the landscape stones are smaller. We used it on larger boulders and it worked quite well.

Would you recommend buying the HD 2yr. protection plan for this product for $18?

It looks like the manufactures warranty is 2yrs. so if you get the HD protection plan it will add another 2 years is how I think it works for only $18. To all the owners of this pressure washer would it be beneficial to get the protection plan?
Asked by: ben
I bought the extended warranty, giving me four years. I thought it was a good dollar value

I bought the Sun Joe about two weeks ago, and bought the detergents for the stucco walls of my house and my concrete driveway last Friday. I spent yesterday and today essentially using the 15 deg nozzle like a power water chisel to wash accumulated dirt and mildew off the sides of the house, especially on the bottom half of the walls. I also bought the Sun Joe accessory for cleaning driveways and sidewalks used it on four sections of the driveway so far without the detergent. The Sun Joe and the accessory performed much better than I had expected. I can't help but to note that other users posted poor reviews of the detergents or the machine. All I can say is, read the directions. Instructions for the detergent say to leave the detergent on the surface for five to ten minutes before you start rinsing off with the 15 or 25 deg nozzle. And you may expect to get right up on the work at hand, using the 15 deg spray like a chisel to get some of the more stubborn stains off the wall.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Machine...but... If you are a homeowner, and need a pressure washer for use around the home it's a good buy. I washed my metal shed, pool deck, paver stones, pressure treated deck, shutters, and the exterior of the house, all without much effort. However, there are a few drawbacks. The nozzle for reaching 2nd story areas will reach, but don't expect it to do more than remove light dust or dirt. If the area is heavily soiled, you will need something with more power, like a commercial washer. The hose connection on the machine is metal, the adapter is plastic. After moving the machine around a few times the plastic adapter becomes stripped and falls off. Very poor design. Of course you can avoid this by removing the hose each time you are going to move the machine, but that's a lot of work. I liked all the other features, I will be contacting the manufacturer to see what can be done about the adapter. Meanwhile I'm going to try a metal hose connector and see if that solves the problem. If not, I guess it's going back to the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SPX3000 Review Ok, so this unit is awesome in power, cleans very well. Operation is fairly quiet. Powering completely off when you release the trigger is HUGE plus! Light, easy to move around when needed. Plug in power cord is of decent length. Now the cons. The unit having the water inlet in the front and the outlet in the rear makes it hard for dealing with the hoses, tangling and so on. Original hose is only 20' long. would have preferred at least 25 or 30 foot pressure hose. I would have bought the 25' extention hose with the unit had I realized this issue when I purchased it. The spray wand is too short! I am 5' 10" and found myself crouching down to power wash the driveway and am now fighting to find a longer one from another supplier since they only sell one length! BOO! this is a huge problem for me. I found the 15 degree tip works well for almost everything I cleaned, which was house, rinsed off the cars, and power washed the driveway. Overall an excellent unit that is very well worth the price I paid!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Machine This is a nice little washer. I used it for cleaning my driveway, sidewalks, garage door and the bricks on my home. It worked great! It had enough pressure to get the job done. The only 2 cons, the setup of the hoses make it hard to roll the machine around. The garden hose comes out the front, the sprayer hose comes out the back. it's made to tip back on the wheels and roll. You can't do it easily because the hoses are in the way in either direction....design flaw. I ended up carrying it from place to place most of the time. There were hoses and cords everywhere! I also purchased a hose quick-connect brass fitting (saw this idea in the reviews) and this is definitely a good idea. The fitting that comes with it has a plastic handle and is cheaply made. However, the brass fitting resolves having to use it and should resolve the issue. Overall, this is a good sprayer, especially since I didn't want to spend $250-$300. I ran it for several hours straight and it never missed a beat!

Today is the first day that I have used my new pressure washer and I am very pleased with it. Our lawn sprinkler system runs on well water and I wanted a pressure washer that would remove the iron stains from the sidewalk and driveway and this Sun Joe pressure washer did the job very well. It is also MUCH easier to operate that a gasoline powered pressure washer. If I had any suggestion to Sun Joe is would be to perhaps make the electrical cord a little shorter and the water hose a little longer as this would make it easier to use the pressure washer without having to move the unit around as much to complete a job. Minor point, I know, but just a suggestion. Otherwise, I am very happy with the unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed Never had this brand name before purchasing this Pressure Washer. I have used it 3 times in the last couple of days for a total of about 7 hours. My trim is the Hardy Plank and painted white over it. With all the extra rain this year the trims all around had turned green and black and looked very bad. I got a sprayer especially to spray bleach. I sprayed bleach on an area and then blasted it off with the pressure washer. Looks almost like I painted the house instead of just cleaning off the mold / mildew. It took me quite awhile to figure out that the soap would not mix with the high pressure water. You must put on the tip labeled soap. Seems with the larger hole in it the pressure stays lower and this causes it to suction on the bottles with the soap. The Driveway and Patio concrete are next.

Let's be realistic and know you get what you pay for. This product is NOT going to sandblast anything for you but the pressure is more than sufficient for your average home owner. I have, so far, cleaned up patio squares that were covered in years of muck and mold. They look new again, so much so, I hauled them all to the back of my house and I am now using them in a BBQ area. I also attached a picture of the amazing results so far on my fence. This little thing is pretty cool and I find it to be well worth the money. No problems with assembling it. I purchased the correct size hose (I needed to replace my cheap hoses anyway). Works like a charm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric power washer Assembly was easy. I cleaned off a paver walkway that was dirty and had green mold on it which is normal for homes in Florida near the ocean. The manual warned about using certain cleaning products but did not say which one's you should use. The lack of info about what cleaning products to use is my biggest issue. The machine performed well and I am pleased with the pressure and results. I wish they would go into more detail about the use of detergent system. Example: can I use soap sold for washing my car? can I use a car washing soap that also has wax in it? The snowjoe.com web site has one multipurpose cleaner and that's it. A youtube video explaining and showing you how to use the detergent system would be helpful. I am scared to use the detergent system in fear I will ruin the pump. The arm that holds the electric cord is too small. Needs to be 2 or 3" taller. Bottom line, it's a good machine and would buy it again.
