A:  I'm not a factory rep, just a user. I have had this unit for three years now, moderate use, and have had no battery issues. It takes a bit of time to charge, but it holds a charge well between uses. For places that are hard to provide a water connection or power, it works great.

Q:Can you draw water from a different water source like a pool with the hose end?

          Answer This Question

A:  You can, provided you have a water pump that will pump the water into the hose connection side of the cordless washer. The cordless washer does not have a pump that will provide suction from a water source other than the 5 gallon bucket that sits on top of the unit and works by gravity feed.

A:  To be honest, I don't know if you can draw water from a pool. I haven't needed to do that. You can attach a hose from a picket so there's a continuous water source supplied to the pump so, I don't see why you couldn't attach a hose to the unit and throw the other end in a pool to use as a water source. Same concept, just a different source. The unit it's self does a great job if you just need a lower psi power washer.

A:  A complete Use and Care Guide can be viewed via a link on the right-hand side of the product page in order to help you determine if this product will suit your project needs.

            by|May 8, 2019

A:  You can attach a regular hose in place of the bucket (that sits on top of the unit). Once you attach the hose to this unit, you can place the other end of the hose wherever you'd like. Of course, if the other end of the hose is lower than the unit, the unit will be working against gravity at the beginning. Finally, it'd be best that the hose is full of water before you start.

              by|Jun 14, 2018

A:  No, the washer does not have a suction pump. It depends on water pressure in the fill hose to deliver the water to the pressure washer.

                by|Mar 16, 2019

A:  It's not a draw pump but gravity. You can hook a garden hose up to it, but it likely had to have some pressure. You might could if your water source was higher, as it will suck the bucket dry, so should also work on any gravity set up.

I found this to be a pretty innovative idea, and very good execution. It's packaged top of the line. Sun Joe impressed me as a brand. They exceeded my expectations. This unit has a nice bottom base on casters. The casters are of good quality, not plastic. The base holds the battery, pump, and is where all the magic happens. This is were the want pressure hos connects. The top green portion is a removable bucket. You can top it off and carry it to machine, or you can fill it while it is on machine, using some care. The battery was good enough for 4-5 bucket fills on one charge. The battery is impressive, and so is the charger. It has a professional appearance, charges without, and issue, and has clear indicators, and leds. Using this pressure washer, I can say, it works. It's less powerful and effective than most 120V AC powered units I've used. Depending on the duties you will be doing, the portability and ease of it, may trump lack of power. There is slightly more power, when used with a hose. There is a connection for a water hose. Of course, this hampers the complete portability, but it works well. I have used it to clean my back deck, and some portions of an above ground pool. I have used all of the tips included. I like the 15 degree tip the best, and it has the most powerful stream, albiet small. I like the unit a lot. It's handy for small messes on the deck, and light soilings. I wouldn't recommend it for tasks, suck as stripping paint, or cleaning concrete aggressively. I would recommend this for removing mud, from lawn equipment, or dirt bikes or ATV's, if soil was fresh. Basically, this is excellent for small short jobs, not prolonged heavy jobs. I am fond of this machine. I do use it often. Much more often than my gas pressure washer.

So useful! I use my pressure washer typically to help me wash my car and rims. I also use it to wash decking and stone walkways/patio. I used this to prep a deck for staining which worked so impressively well. It also worked well for washing the car. More than enough pressure when equipped with a wide spray nozzle to stay safe for washing bugs off the car and spraying brake dust from the rims. It was also enough to prep the deck- I was skeptical but yep it worked great. There is a pressure setting on the base and I cranked that up. Battery lasted longer than I expected. The portable bucket was good for deck/patio cleaning and had to be refilled a few times to wash the car. There is a hose connection too if I wanted to skip that bucket part. Highly rated for the reason it works well and I have so much more use for it now tat its totally portable. Would be great for boat use or pier use too.

Not for serious work... This is an unbiased review that is unaffected by the fact that I received this product for free. As proof of impartiality, just click on my nickname and see the average of the ratings I have given over 200 reviews to date. ==== First impressions ==== Seems lightweight for a serious pressure washer and that is because it is not a serious pressure washer. Everything was packaged properly. ==== Assembly ==== Very easy and almost so intuitive that no manual instructions are needed. Open the box, separate the parts. Attach the bucket to the pump assembly. Attach the hose to the motor assembly and wand, Attach the chosen nozzle to the wand.. ==== Operation ==== This is a very low pressure tool. It only generates about 1100 psi compared to about 1500-2500 psi for most electric line operated washers and 2500-4500 psi for most gasoline motor powered washers. This can only be used for very light work. Don't let anyone fool you about this. This tool is ONLY for convenience and not performance; you can get an electric washer for half the price and twice the pressure. I tried to use this tool to remove paint from the bottom of a boat and it was completely useless even with the sharpest nozzle attached. A gas engine powered pressure washer rated at 2700 psi and costing about the same as this one did the job perfectly. All this being said, it did an acceptable job at light tasks. In my video you can see it being used to remove a layer of mold/mildew from an old concrete block pillar and it did perform ok. The " TSS (Total Stop System) - automatically shuts off the pump when trigger is not engaged to save energy and prolong pump life " feature did not work, so the pump motor kept running even while not spraying. You can see that in my video. There were no noticeable leaks or kinks in the hose or handle, the internal water tank was full, and the inlet filter was clean, This is a clear defect. The holders for the nozzle on the tank do not hold the nozzles securely and one fell off while in operation. I had to search for it in the grass. I did not use the included soap dispenser or the hose adapter. The instructions say to not fill the water tank while it is attached to the base unit, but I can't see why removing it would be necessary. Nevertheless, I did comply and that made the job that much more difficult. ==== Summary ==== Use only for very light work and only for the convenience of using no water supply hose, electric line cord, or gasoline. Some defects were found. Overpriced for the performance level. Cannot recommend generally.

ION 40-VOLT 5.0 AH 1160 PSI cordless pressure washer works great ! I took mine out to the marina where I have my boat docked and gave my boat a good washing. The cordless pressure washer is easy to use. Compact so that everything fits into the water bucket for storage. I used different nozzles to clean different areas of the boat. The best feature about this pressure washer is that it's cordless and you don't have to have electricity. The battery life is great for the smaller jobs like car or boat washing. I have an area on the back of my house that needs some attention and I'm certain it will be able to take care of that project too. There is an adapter that allows you to hook the pressure washer up to your garden hose as well.

The concept of a battery powered power washer is a great concept but in all reality it falls a bit short in my opinion. Nevertheless it's a great start and could definitely be improved upon. The assembly was simple and it took about 10 minutes from unboxing to fully assembled product. The washer included a battery and a charger. The battery lasts for about 20 minutes or so based on how much pressure (which is adjustable) you want. So once you are done with battery, you wait till it charges unless you keep a spare. The hose is quite long and is well built. You can use four different kind of nozzles that are included with it. It also has a soap attachment which can be used if needed. The supplied bucket can be used for places where you can't run a hose to attach to the unit (I personally didn't use the bucket). I liked the fact that the washer is compact and is totally cordless but the pressure that you get is not that great. Overall, you may use this product for small jobs but for anything where you want more pressure and a continuous operation, look elsewhere.

My wife and I have wondered for the longest time why we had this green moss/mold growing on the side of our fireplace. We recently had a roofer come out and do a bunch of repairs and what he found was that the downspout was plugged causing it to overflow and make this mess you can see in the attached pictures. This is where the Sun Joe cordless pressure washer started to earn its keep. I removed the downspout and used the pressure washer to blast it out. I then took the pressure washer and blasted several years of moss/mold off the side of the fireplace making it look brand new again. What makes this whole thing great is that the fireplace is on the side of the house with no electrical outlets or water source. I was able to throw a freshly charged battery in it and fill the bucket on top with 5 gallons of water and away I went. I only had to fill the bucket two times to do the whole firelplace from top to bottom and the battery lasted about 30 minutes so I was able to get it all done on one charge. This made this whole job very easy and convienent. I do have a 3,000 psi gas pressure washer stored in my shed but I always dread using it because it's so heavy and cumbersome and you have to make sure you have fresh gas on hand and you have to drain the float bowls after each use otherwise it won't run next time. Having the convience of a battery powered pressure washer is awesome along with being able to fill a 5 gallon bucket worth of water. Now if I want to clean the garage doors or pressure wash the siding on the house or get the spiders out from under the eaves I can bust this thing out and with no problems. I can now do with ease the jobs I always put off out of laziness. This pressure washer is awesome in that you can stack just about everything inside the bucket and have a nice and small contained unit that won't take up much storage space in your shed or garage. I'm actually going to leave mine setup and ready to go in the garage at all times so when I wash my vehicles I can use it to clean the brake dust off our vehicles rims with ease. I actually used it on it's lowest pressure setting to clean the engine in my daughters car and it turned out great. I highly, highly recommend this little pressure washer to anyone looking for one. It is nice and quiet even on it's most powerful setting and I'm going to be buying another battery for it just so I can use it for more stuff without having to stop and wait between charges.

No cords, no hoses, just good clean fun!
The Sun Joe portable pressure washer is a fun and versatile tool to have. You can fill it with five gallons of water, and with a charged battery, basically take it anywhere to pressure wash. The five gallons of water (5.3 to be exact) in the bucket lasts a decent amount of time, as it is rated at a maximum of .79 gallons per minute. You can wash down a remote storage shed or patio surface on a bucket. The unit can be connected to a garden hose for a continuous water supply. The unit is primarily two pieces, the power base and the bucket, which attaches onto of the power base. For storage, the power base will fit into the bucket. Assemble is easy, unpack the pieces, place the bucket and lock it onto the power base, connect the hose, assemble the two-piece wand, select a nozzle, insert the battery, and go! No tools needed. Unit has two handles, one for lifting when bucket is empty, and one for pulling when bucket is full. To change the spray pattern, you pick one of four nozzles that stores on the bucket and attach it via a quick connect system. You have the choice of 0, 15, 25, and 40 degree patterns. You also can connect the supplied detergent bottle to the end of wand using the quick connect system. Battery is a 40 volt, 5 amp hr. lithium ion unit with charge display indicator. Unit comes with charger – it takes 2-3 hours to fully charge the battery, and it will run about 20 minutes at full power. To use, fill with water, push the power button, and then select one of three power ranges, low at 507 psi, medium at 650 psi, or high at 800 psi, and then depress the trigger on the wand. Motor is rated at a maximum of 1160 psi – so I assume the maximum pressure is using the 0 degree nozzle at high power. Motor only runs when trigger depressed to save energy. I really like this unit for locations were you don’t want to drag a hose or cord or take the time to set them both up. It has ample power for most jobs. Trade-off for portability is the battery operation run time, which is fine but not for a long job like a large and long driveway. You can buy an extra battery. I find this a great companion to a “traditional” pressure washer, and set up take minutes. I think it would be great for colder weather car washing as well, as you don’t need to worry about the hose freezing up. Overall, a great addition to the tool kit – and it goes anywhere

                    Portable pressure washer
This 40 volt, 5 Ah model operates with the battery and charger included. This battery can also be used in other Sun Joe and Snow Joe products. The soap dispenser is also included and attaches to the spray gun so the soap does not run through the unit itself. We tested out the pressure washer yesterday by cleaning off one of our trash receptacles which could not stand up to a high power pressure washer. Cleaning was very easy with this model as it puts out three pressure levels at 507, 650 and 800 psi. The nozzles quickly snap into place and it comes with a 20 foot hose. It is nice to have the option to run without a water hose and just fill the bucket. This allows the use where no water hose is available. The battery came 33 percent charged, and it will take about 2.5 to 3 hours to completely charge. The washer will run from 19 to 31 minutes on a charge based on how much power is used. The wheels roll easily and the bucket holds just over 5 gallons of water. We did not have to refill the bucket to complete our project. This is not a high power unit, but one that could be used for light jobs that would not stand the pressure of a high powered washer. I like the option of taking it on the go and just filling with clean water.

Results comparable to other electric washers; portable for small jobs
The main benefit of this unit is the ability to pressure wash in areas where it may be difficult to get a power cord or water supply hose. The unit consists of a bottom pressure unit upon which you clamp a water bucket. The bucket has a center handle from which to carry it after filling and a long handle on the end to pull the entire unit around on its wheels. The bucket holds a little over 5 gallons but its lid doesn't clamp down meaning you'll more than likely lose some it from sloshing around while you carry it to your project. You'll use up the 5 gallons quickly so its best for small areas. You can still use the washer for larger areas, simply connect your hose to it like a regular "corded" washer. Battery life when fully charged should be able to get you through most tasks. The bucket also has mounts to attach the spray wand and nozzle attachments. The main annoyance I've had is that when moving from place to place there is no good way to wrap up the spray hose, meaning either I carry it myself or drag it behind me. End results are similar to other electric pressure washers. Four nozzles are included to change the arc of the spray and thus its intensity. There are also three pressure settings on the motor itself. The unit can be used with cleaning solution as well. Bottom line, this device is a good purchase as a primary pressure washer and can be used portably unlike standard models.
