Questions & Answers

What's the square footage that covers in 64'x30" a need about 170sf for my kitchen

Asked by: Marine
A 30” x 64’ mat covers 160 square feet. This is the largest mat available through Home Depot, so we recommend using two smaller 240v mats, like the 30” x 40’ and the 30” x 28’.

Can you use this under reclaimed bricks? How about under reclaimed wood flooring?

Asked by: Erik
The floor warming mat must be completely embedded in modified thin-set or self-leveler, and cannot be installed under any nail down wood flooring. Any wood flooring used over top would have to be an engineered or laminate wood flooring. As far as bricks are concerned, we would not recommend this as the heat only radiates out about 1.75” from the heating cable. The thickness of most bricks along with the thin-set used would be too much for that system to heat through.

What is the amp draw on the 240V / 60' x 30 " mat?

I have the thermostat that can accommodate 2 mats. I don't want to go over the 15 amp max. I don't want to have to add the Relay.
Asked by: Babs
We do not have a 30” x 60’ mat. We currently have a 30” x 56’ which draws 7 amps, and a 30” by 64’ which draws 8 amps. Sincerely, SunTouch

Hi rr1978, This warming mat is not designed for use under carpet, using it under carpet may damage the grid and cause a fire. Mike

Customer Reviews

64 ft. x 30 in. 240V Radiant Floor Warming Mat is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm Toes on Warm Tiles This was a first time project! Reading other reviews was extremely helpful eg plastic trowel is worth the peace of mind. The resistance wire is an 1/8" in diameter which make transitioning the tile to the floor without the mat very easy. Website video was extremely helpful.
