One of the best ones I have tried
This is supposed to hold 175' of 5/8" garden hose. I have only put less than half of that on so far. I will a great way to store extra hoses in the winter (after draining). The unit is fairly lightweight and easy to move. The wheels help when hoses are stored. The connections are easy to make and are watertight with no leaks. I loaded the first hose onto the reel and guided it on with one hand and cranked with the other. It went on smoothly. Unrolling the hose is also very easy. The reel spins freely, and the unit stays in place. I was originally thinking that the unit should have come with spikes to hold it in place, but that isn't needed with this design.

Lightweight and easy to use
This Mobile hose real made by Suncast is lightweight and easy to move around. I’m using it with a 100ft hose. It seems durable enough although I would prefer the part that hooks the reel to the water hose not be plastic. The reel operates smoothly. When you completely unwind the 100 foot hose it helps to disconnect the hose nozzle and lay the hose out straight ahead of the real before attempting to wind it back up. My wife attempted to just wind it up without doing this and ended up with a tangled mess.

Great buy for the money!
I really like my new Suncast 175 ft. Mobile Hose Reel, Black! Like all the other Suncast products I own, this hose reel is very well made and is of the finest quality! When it arrived, it was double boxed and was further protected by bubble wrap. I chose this product even though it was made to hold 175 feet of 5/8” hose, but I figured that it should be able to hold 100 feet of ¾” hose, which I use exclusively, without taking up the extra space that a larger ¾” hose reel would. There is a tab on each side of the reel that when depressed, lets you fold the handle out of the way when not in use. There is also another tab on the crank that allow you to stow the small handle there out of the way. Construction is steel and recycled resin. My one complaint would be the cheap wheels. As soon as I opened the box and saw those, I knew there might be a problem. They wobble and rub, but if they break within the first 5 years, I plan on taking advantage of the company’s 5-year warranty! It looks like they could have spent a little more on them. All in all, a good buy for the money!

Super Lightweight Hose Reel
The thing that I like best about this hose reel is that it is super lightweight. I am using it in my backyard, so it will be easy for me to carry it to/from my garage when I store it for the winter and bring it back out in the spring. In addition, it has a handy collapsible carry handle, so you can move it into various positions to either carry the hose reel, pull it, or simply move it out of the way. The hose reel accommodates hoses up to 175 feet (my hose is 150 feet), so it should be able to handle most hoses that homeowners currently have or will purchase in the future. I have purchased Suncast products in the past and they are quality built and durable. Plus, most importantly, they stand behind their products.

Nice hose storage
I had a very long and therefore heavy hose that was being kept in a cardboard box that simply collapsed; this is a much better storage solution. It came fully assembled, which is a plus. The label directed you to the Suncast website for the instructions and manual—Home Depot also has that link on the product page of their site, which is a plus. The short hose that connects the reel to the water supply was the perfect length for my spigot, but I could see how some may need a longer hose to make that crucial connection. I did have the tiniest bit of leakage at the spigot, but I had tightened it only with my bare hand--another quarter turn would have made it water tight as advertised. Since my hose is so long, I paid particular attention to how it was rolling on the reel. It was awkward at first, but I got the hang of it. Moving the reel with the hose fully wound was easier than I expected. It did tip once, but I think that was probably my fault. One complaint: the plastic "feet" fell off several times. Glue may be in their future.

The Suncast hose reel is heavy duty and very smooth operating
The Suncast hose reel is going to protect my hoses and let them survive longer if I roll them up after watering. I started with a 100-foot 5/8 diameter hose and the reel still had plenty of room on the reel for more hose. The reel is very smooth operating and cranks in the hose with very little effort and the wheels are wide enough to roll through the grass with little effort. The Suncast reel came with a connector hose to hook it up to a faucet, so you are ready to go in no time.

175 foot hose reel
This is a nice heavy duty garden hose storage reel. It holds up to 175’ of hose, I put 100’ hose and there and it looks like there is plenty of room left if I wanted to add another 50’ hose. Installation is a breeze, just attach the included hose to a hose bib and to the storage reel. After hooking up the hose and sprayer nozzle I turned on the water, I was surprised that there were no leaks as I had in other holders I had in the past. This is going to last a long time; it is also easy if you wanted to move it around outside the house as the wheels make it easy to transport.

Well thought out.
The hose real has nice features. The hose connections have thich gaskets. The handle locks into position, and has two release pulls, one on each side. The real uses a male hose connector for both water connections. If you manage to damage the hose, or need a longer one, you can use a standard wash machine hose.
Rolling and unrolling the hose is easy. No leaks with 70 psi water pressure.

Suncast mobile Hose reel
I ordered this particular item to assist in the process of moving a garden hose around. The hose reel is light weight it consists of metal and recycled resins which is durable and light. The handle folds easy for storage and the hose connections have brass ends. I installed a 125 hose on the reel and it was relatively easy to roll on and plenty of room on the reel for the hose.

Suncast 175 ft. Mobile Hose Reel, Black
First, I have owned many Suncast products over the years and can’t remember a problem with any them.
This is a lightweight hose reel; the manufacturer specifies using light-duty vinyl hose and warns that using anything else may void the warranty. Since I only buy commercial or industrial-duty hoses and don’t own a light-duty vinyl hose, I loaded a 100-foot 5/8” commercial hose which went well; I think I can get another 25-feet on the reel, although I don’t need to. When I pulled out the hose, the hose reel did tip over several times.
I connected the lead-hose to the hose-bibb on the house, then to the reel itself. When the water was turned on, it sprayed from the lead-hose connection on the reel. After releasing the pressure, I re-tightened the lead-hose connection and tried again. Water sprayed from the same place. I double-checked that a washer was installed and tried again; same result. Luckily, there were no leaks interior to the reel only the lead-hose connection. The problem seems to be the construction of the lead-hose with its plastic hose connectors instead of metal.
