Asked by: swilso
Condensation forms inside the PVC pipe because of the pipe's exposure to temperature change between inside and outside air. The bypass is installed so that this moisture will not drip back directly into the fan, which could cause it to fail over time. You can find a detailed parts list on www.suncourt.com. Click on Radon Mitigation Kits and drill down from there to the appropriate radon kit.

Can I run it inside the house & exhaust it through the water heater vent with a y-pipe? It vents at the roof peak.

Asked by: B93
Hello, No, that isn't an accepted radon mitigation exhaust. Radon mitigation systems should have the fan outside or above the living space and have their own dedicated exhaust. This is to prevent any cracks on the positive pressure side of the system from pumping radon gas into your home. You will run into issues when you go to sell the home. A savvy buyer or Realtor will notice a non-standard installation and ask for concessions. If you have questions about any installation please call us at 800-999-3267 M-F 8-4:30 central time. Asked by: ALPO
Hello, I'd say the fans are pretty quiet. They are mounted outside or above the living spaces and come with two vibration isolating couplers. There isn't a lot of air movement through the fan so the most you should hear is a light hum. They are rated at 60dBA and 4 sones. Thanks, Suncourt

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The most important part of your mitigation system I built a DIY Mitigation system and used a similar fan. Had I known Home Depot offered this fan kit, I would have purchased it instead of going with Amazon, as I always trust Depot's products (and like that I can return it without having to do a return shipment!) Anyway, I detailed my experience with an inline radon fan in this post http://www.amateurdiy.com/mini-projects/how-diy-radon-mitigation/ Positive experience and it actually works.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fan is good - "deal" is not, just less stuff The fan is easy to install and runs quietly. Thumbs up for that. Unfortunately, the online "kit" does not include the air pressure indicator shown in the picture (it is included with the store kit hence the price difference). My bad for not reading the caption thoroughly but the display is misleading. Note that the indicator is not available separately so unless you are replacing an existing fan, the store kit is a better choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not enough specifications provided I cant believe you dont provide any detail of the performance specification for the fan, CFM and static pressure

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great fan, missing mounting parts. Easy to install, quiet and moved the air quickly. Connecting the power was a snap. I didn't need to use the mounting bracket that come with the fan, however the screws and washers that were needed if I did need the brackets were missing.
