Bought this for my wife for a Christmas gift so...
Bought this for my wife for a Christmas gift so she'll have to try it out when the weather gets to be a bit warmer but I'm thinking that she's going to enjoy it and be spending time in the backyard reading a book or playing a game on the kindle or computer so time will tell.

This stand works but only because I was determined to make it work. I purchased a 14-foot hammock and needed a stand that could accommodate one that large so I was happy to find a universal stand for a reasonable price. The stand had obviously been repackaged when I received it, and the box contained none of the hardware to assemble the stand or attach a hammock. I decided to improvise (since I wanted to spend time relaxing in my yard rather than on the phone with customer service), so after a couple of trips to Home Depot to purchase chains and hooks (and after using pliers to un-bend a bent portion of the frame in order to finish assembling it), I’ve been able to relax in my hammock. The stand does seem sturdy so far.

Squeaking when swinging
I've had this for about 1 month and it has started to "squeak" like an old rocking chair. The origin is where two metal points meet at the bottom. If I don't swing in the hammock, it's fine. But any swinging will cause the sound at a loud level. Setup was easy. Paint is good enough, but I see slight rusting forming near the connecting points at the base. The push in pins that connect the metal poles together are not coated with anything to resist rust. If it weren't for the squeaking sound when I swing, I would like this stand.
