Product Overview
A culmination of 25 years of indirect system manufacturing experience. The SuperStor Ultra Indirect Water Heater draws energy from a boiler and thus does not need its own heat source. Hot boiler water flows through an internal heat exchanger in the tank, heating the domestic water. The SuperStor Ultra boasts 3-5 times more recovery than conventional gas-fired or electric water heaters.

Just 1yr 5 months after installation bottom of the tank started to leak. I believe not properly QC'd their products. I know they provide life time leak warranty but you'd want tanks to last at least a few years. Also, installation labor charges needs to be covered in these case which seems to be a manufacturing defect.

I am very pleased with this heater. The connectors are very solidly mounted, it is well insulated, and easy to move around. The construction is sturdy and it sits nicely on three furnace bricks. I had no issues getting it hooking up and running and the setup is quiet and bone-dry at all times (five months so far).

This water heater had two leaks since installed in my home 5 years ago, the latest leak requires a new water heater. HTP won't even offer a discount on a new water heater. Searching other reviews I have seen similar complaints, I would not buy this.

when i took it out of the box, i took...
when i took it out of the box, i took the top plastic cover off (which comes right off), and there was no insulation on about half the top. i went down to local hardware store and bought a can of spray foam and finished it. but for 1500 bucks? come on! it should of been checked from the factory.

I had this SuperStor installed in my house in 1993. It is still working as good as the day I purchased it, outlasting what would have been 2 or 3 regular, less efficient gas water heaters, that leak and cause flooding and additional damage if you're not on top of them. Stainless steel is really wonderful!
