The SEL 0.7-Watt White Integrated LED Emergency Light was shipped in a larger box to prevent damage.
This is the first emergency light I have reviewed.
I have seen the older bulky models that were made of metal and quite heavy with the lead battery's.
This unit is light weight, has a low profile and foot print.
It is light weight enough that it can be mounted to a sheet rock wall with simple sheet rock anchors with out going through the wall to studs .
The NI-CAD battery pack is about the same size as 3 AA battery's, and on only a 1 hour charge it has powered the lights now for several hours.
the LED'S are so bright it gave me eye spots from taking a picture.
The lights them self's are adjustable as to where they face.
It comes with 3 wire nuts but no mounting hardware.
It only needs 2 wire power, it has a 120 Volt hot, a 277 volt hot and a common ground.
The back plate has a verity of mounting hole knock outs and one in the center for power that is the same size knock out as modern outlet box's.
It comes with instructions in English with pictures.
It has a 5 year warranty

When I picked up this Sure-Lites LED emergency light model SEL17 to install in my utility room so when the power goes out I can see my circuit breaker panel box to connect my generator to it
When I opened the lightbox my first impression was this light looks cheap then I noticed there are only one LED light on both sides of the fixture
When I hooked the light up to the power it looks bright but when you mount it to the ceiling it wasn't very bright at all they should have put at least 3 LEDs on both sides of the fixture for better light output
The light comes with a nice test button on the side of the fixture so you can test the batteries periodically and the test button turns red when the light has AC power connected to it
The long-life NiCad battery seems to be efficient it will give you 90 minutes of light. This light is not made for long-term lighting
I am rating this light at 3 stars due to the lack of light output I think Sure-Lites can do better
